The WBO rejected the fight because Guzman isn't ranked in the top 15 at 140 by the WBO...He is 11 at 135. Source: The Scene

    Bunch of BS!

Youre mad because a sanctioning body actually FOLLOWED THE RULES??

It's surprising considering he's held WBO belts before.

Who cares if he's not ranked in the top 15? Guzman is one of the best pure boxers in the game today and he's undefeated.

I tought you had the right to defend against ranked boxers in 3 weight classes (the champion's, the one up and one down.)

It's annoying insofar as alphabet organizations normally bend over backwards to cater to those who curry favor with them, often times to the detriment of worthy challengers, e.g., the WBA's continual propping up of John Ruiz. This time, there was an intriguing bout between a quality 140 pounder and a dynamic, smaller fighter, but it will likely not take place because Bradley is concerned about keeping a belt that has no legitimate value.

just because it has no value to YOU doesnt mean it has no value to Timmy Bradley. Obviously it does.

No ****. How about some props to Tim for taking another tough fight against one of the best pure boxers in the sport, to prove himself like he has since he was on ShoBox? How about that???

Of course, that's why I said "legitimate" value; I'm speaking from my own admittedly subjective viewpoint. There are seemingly a couple of options here as to why it would be valuable, though. One, Bradley believes that having one of four titles from sanctioning organizations that all have scandalous dealings in the very recent past is of primary importance. If that is what he values over recognition from the media and incorrupt bodies, then there is nothing I can say except that I find it foolish. Two, there is an economic value derived from being able to claim that one is a "world champion" even though the term is so diluted it hardly means anything today. If that is the case, I do not begrudge the man for trying to ensure his income remains as high as possible, but please don't expect me to countenance with approbation when it spoils a fight I'd like to see.

Maybe or maybe not. We are talking about lightwelterweight. He has not even fought once in this division, why should he be given a crack at the title?

Just look at what the WBO did for the likes of Calzaghe. I think Tocker Pudwill was one of those who mysteriously turned up in the top 15.

Bradley should dump this useless title.
