I scored both fights 114-113 to both the non-Uk lads. Hatton got the nod with the judges that night because of who is was and what he promised at the time :good
And still making excuses after being proved badly wrong :rofl :rofl :rofl .Give it a fortnight before the"Is Hatton avoiding Bradley threads start"!!Admit it gents Witter is not in Hattons class end of.
Well the people that matter didn't. Hatton-Collazo, 3 judges gave it Hatton, Sky Sports card Hatton, HBO card Hatton, Ring Magazine Hatton. Get over it, Hatton beat Collazo. Witter lost.
Mikey to hell with Ortiz he is nothing but I like Devon Alexander and would love to take him out. That is a real fighter and contest. Wev will be ready when the fight happens. As you know we operate on a simple uncomplicated premise which is if you are at 140 Ajose Olusegun will beat you period and we don't care who you are.
Dissapointed in Witter but he is always likely to put in a **** performance at some point. When he is in the right mood he can be great, but he is so often lazy and sloppy. I was ringside with Stuey and Doyley for Witter - Corley and Witter was awful. Corley was just worse. We all said after the fight that Hatton would maul Witter, he is so open to the body and is so sloppy. Yes he has the power, but so did Tszyu. Hatton can deal with big punchers he struggles with very fast, very accurate shots, the ones you don't see coming...and that was why I picked PBF by late TKO and why that result has no bearing on how Hatton v Witter would pan out. Witter would be lunging and winging telegraphed haymakers...Hatton would be inside fast and landing with about 3 times the number of shots, and as Witter tires he gets more and more open and his workrate becomes less and less. Hatton would savage Witter.
Hatton doesn't have the stamina you need though anymore, he's gassing after 5 rounds due to his lifestyle outside the ring, he's looked slow since Urango and Castillo was shot from too much weight draining to Lightweight and the Corrales fights. Hatton Is open to any counter shot hook you want to throw, yes he lost to Floyd but It's more the way you lose rather than who you lose to. That Witter was the same who showed up for Kotelnik, unmotivated.
I agree it was an unmotivated Witter and he really does swing from being awful and sloppy to looking eager and being very good. But Hattons so called poor stamina is still FAR better than Witters. Hatton was working every round against PBF, and having to walk through shots to close the range. He would find it very easy to get inside Witter and Witters punches are often wide and telegraphed, he does not have even close to the hand speed of someone like PBF and Hatton would be all over him from the opening bell. Witter has a punchers chance, but the likelyhood is that he gets pummelled for most of the fight and beaten comfortably.
Hatton's workrate Is high but his defence Isn't very good and I doubt he would feel comfortable walking onto too many counter hook. Since Tszyu he disregarded any defence and just relied on workrate, now thats dropping as well. Would rather see Witter go elsewhere now but his counter punching against Hatton who's easy to hit now would make It Interesting.
I never picked Witter to beat Hatton. At best, I chose him to land big with an awkward shot and hurt him but not win. HOWEVER Junior has always been on Hattons heals and always been worthy of a shot, especially when Hatton is fighting **** instead. If you weight for 8 years then sure the person you are avoiding is quite likely to lose. So the fight is now out of the window but that doesn't mean Ricky hasn't avoided this bout for years.
So when exactly was he to fight him? coz I don't remember you screaming about this fight when you were booking up to go to Vegas like the rest of us Achilles.
Harris beat Lazcano on just about the tightest unanimous decision possible, 7-5.7-5 and 6-6 on the cards (it was only unanimous as Lazcano was deducted a point). The obvious difference between the two is that Lazcano is a "comeback" fight for Hatton after his first loss, whereas Harris is Witter's signature win.
What sort of nonsense is this statement? Ridiculous. Collazo is tough (Shane beat him easy but Collazo still proved his toughness), was a belt holder, and was a weight division up. Hatton only knew he was going up 6-7 weeks before. I canot believe you equate Junior's comprehensive (and it was comprehensive) loss to a relative novice in Bradley with a narrow win for Hatton where he won a strap in a higher weight class. Utter tripe I'm afraid and time you dropped the BS.
At any point during the eight years when he didn't have a big fight lined up. He was fighting Floyd, obviously he wasn't ducking Witter at that point. I'm still going to support a British fighter. Tell it like it is though. Witter has been domestic, european and world class at roughly the same time as Ricky. When Ricky broke into the elite, I didn't complain because he was frying bigger fish HOWEVER outside of that stint Witter was a viable option. However you look at it, Ricky has avoided a fight that could be made. Witters record speaks for itself.
