If you look at his career objectively, he has struggled with his opposition or at least fought even with them. Never really seen him as any kind of dominant fighter. Go back to the Witter fight where it was scored close. He was outboxed in spots by Kendall Holt and knocked down twice by Holt. Lost to Manny twice, looked lackluster against JMM, and got pummeled by Provodnikov. He's a middle-of-the-road fighter who has excellent athleticism. But he isn't a great boxer or technician and definitely isn't a smart fighter.
If Bradley stuck to the jab and ran like a mayweather With his overhand right being an occasional spoiler tactic He may have made it close, maybe even won
it never took a great fighter to beat Marquez, and it would have happened more if Marquez fought better fighters. Now he is fighting Alvarado and might get Manny again.
I re-watched Bradley Marquez earlier today and came away thoroughly impressed with Bradley's speed, quickness, and boxing ability. Obviously styles make fights. There's something about Pacquiao that makes Bradley look extremely ordinary. He was swinging wildly at times. He was off balance, losing his footing which I think you can attribute to Pacquiao's movement. I think overall a lot of folks are being hard on Pacquiao. He just beat a young elite fighter in his prime. Is he as good as when he beat guys like Hatton and Cotto? Probably not. Doesn't mean he's not still great.
He was improved then and people had him in the top 5 P4P list. But after a Pac lose...he's probably only as good as a guy like DeMarco.
He's really good, just not great. No power, too emotional, relies too much on his athletisism. He needs a new trainer. Somebody like Floyd Sr. or Virgil Hunter. Not that it could happen, He just needs someone to train away those bad habits.
