He is right when he says his health comes first. And it is obvious what he means by that.

Its only bitter *******s who try to spin it to try and make it say he dosnt take challenges.

Tough fights happen. Styles make fights. It's boxing, its the hurt business. If your motto is health first your in the wrong sport. If you take the toughest challenges as a professional should you will be in tough fights. Instead of talking down to fighters who go out there and leave their heart in the ring doing what they love, give them the admiration and respect they deserve.

Mayweather has fought toe to toe, and taken shots he didn't have to take several times...Hernandez, Corely, N'Dou...the difference is, he handled the incoming assault better than Bradley did.

    some good points there...

Unfortunately Mayweather's in the wrong sport if he's working off "safety first". He effectively states that he specifically cherry-picks his opponents who he expects wont do alot of damage to him (which i actually dont buy - its just a very awful excuse to not fight Pacquiao)

Saying stuff like that aint gonna win true fanship and respect. With the exception of fans and whores who value money first over respect.

As a fan, Bradley won my respect with his champion's pride disallowing him to back down from a brawl multiple times, EVEN THOUGH HIS FEET WAS OUT FROM UNDER HIM.....

Now don't get me wrong about Mayweather. I understand he's a man, he aint here just for our entertainment and he's gotta make money while maintaining a degree of health, so he can continue to make more money and have a longer career and not be ******ed like he sees his father... i can respect that.

    But....

I'd like to think that the majority of us watch boxing because of the spirit of competition between two fighters. Not the mentality of safety-first. If that was the case, everyone would be wearing headgear, probably less rounds, and now we're back in the amateurs.

These are two men who have something to prove, and willing to make money, the hardest way. The safest way is not to box at all lol for pete's sake! This is a sport where knockdowns count, and KTFO'ing your opponent reaps total victory INSTANTANEOUSLY! This is the expectation of the viewership in this sport. Where contact is expected and to be made. This **** aint for some ***** willows....

I agree. Bradley fought one of the dumbest fights of this era. He fought like he was a slugger with power instead of using his boxing ability and wining the fight in an easier fashion. PBF would have never gone to war with the Russian on Saturday night and like he said ain't nothing cool about getting punched in the face and getting damaged. He would have given the Russian a boxing lesson skated to a wide UD win. He's a much smarter fighter than Bradley.

We already knew Bradley had heart, he didn't need to prove anything to real boxing fans out there. But hey, if he can get a big payday out of this performance, good on him. I hope he realises that he cannot carry on fighting like this.

Its the "Tough fights" or "Spirited/Competitive fights" that keeps us watching the sport.

Its the same fights that takes the most out of fighters too.

But if everyone took "safety first" fights, the fight outcome would be predictable and dominant. Who looks to watch that, besides the insecure?

This has nothing to do with tough challenges. It's about fighting smart. Floyd has fought Very good competition, but he boxed and fought intelligently, instead of trading punches like a moron
