Yeah it is a shame - he got completely jobbed in his last fight as well, so a bit gutting he'll be going out on a sour note.

But it's perhaps better to get out of the boxing game when you still have a bit left than stay in it when you have nothing...

Good solid career that he can be proud of.

That was a fine performance to end on by Bradley. A shameful one by Sheeraz, Gray and the BBBoC, but Skeete can hold his head up high.

Always liked this guy, great silky skills but let down by a shakey chin. He certainly made Sheeraz's stock take a nosedive in that last performance.

He should have took the sheeraz rematch payday before retiring.

I can imagine that the last fight and what happened after has left such a sour taste in the mouth that he's just had enough of the sport. He was beginning to be seen as a stepping stone and when that happens you know it's the end, especially if when you don't read the script you get screwed over.

Agreed. Think he would have lost but would have been another bit of cash for the retirement fund

I remember Bradley Skeete well back from the BoxNation days. He was an excellent boxer technically. I'm still sorry he did not get that World Title Fight out in Australia - a fight he could have won.

There was nothing like a Bradley Skeete 6 rounder on the undercard back when he was coming through. Guaranteed that every minute of the fight would look like every other minute of the fight en route to a UD.

I was a fan if his too back then.
He has a wife n family now and he was away from them up at wincobank. He probably wanted a last shot to see how far he could get before father time came calling and he was left wondering, what if?
I've enjoyed his career and I'm sure he has many fond memorys from the sport both amateur and professional.

Shame really. Because he was well on his way to an easy wide points before what happened with Sheeraz, should have been a DQ, tide was starting to turn but he'd have probably have hung on for a points win.

However he was well past his best, so he would have likely been destroyed by the likes of Troy Williamson at British level
