The man has lost 2 fights in his career. One a debatable decision v a good British champion when he was still
green and one for the European oh away ground v an undefeated puncher.

This knee jerk reaction to any result is what is hurting boxing and makes promoters wary of taking risks.Yesterday Skeete could win a world title, now he may as well retire. Can you not see how ludicrous this is.He got hurt and couldn’t recover,it happens,it’s boxing.

Enzo Maccarinelli and Derry Mathews went through a couple of the worst runs of heavy stoppages you will ever see.And guess what? They persevered and got the rewards for it with big wins and major titles even after EVERYONE had written them off. What about Marvin Hagler,3 early losses in his career, should have maybe called it a day when he realised he would never reach the top?
Johnny Nelson,Steve Robinson,Chris Edwards,Ovil McKenzie,Orlando Salido etc.Liam Walsh was fancied as a live underdog v Gervonta Davis, loses early and is written off after years and years of positive work and results. What is wrong with fans today? In a fight anything can happen,it doesn’t mean you are finished.

Reactions like this is why the likes of Frank won’t risk his guys sacred Os.

I didn’t even mention ‘styles make fights’,then we don’t know how legit Larraja is? Or how Skeete could have been drained or injured before going in.

All those years and years of boxing.Dedicated his life to it,constant success as an amateur then pro, then championships follow, talk of world honours. The man loses one fight to a puncher and he may as well retire.SMH

He may as well retire because he’s 30 and it’s just going down hill from now. He’s not European level. He’s not going to win the commonwealth. Don’t see him winning the British again. If he moves up in weight he’s going to get destroyed. You do make some valid points but you still haven’t answered me. Where does Skeete go from here?

    Your outlook is awful.

Frank could make him v Gary Corcoran in London for a WBO belt and a win there gains him a top 5 ranking.
    Move to 154.
    Rematch Frankie Gavin.
Wait for the British to become available again.
He may even get a voluntary world shot now he looks more vulnerable. Why not? He won’t be seen as the bogeyman anymore.

You strike me as the kind who can’t see beyond what’s in front of them.Another day Skeete could have outboxed the Spaniard. You think that’s crazy? It’s not.And since when was a fighter finished at 30? In about 1950 yes.Now mid to late 30’s can be prime.

Skeete has proven himself to be a solid fighter and everyone slating him is being unfair to the spaniard who pulled off a great win

Would like to see Josh Kelly take on the spaniard next!

Skeete gets smashed off them guys at 154 lbs so he shouldn't move up, retiring is definitely the safer option when you've got a serious lack of power like skeete.

but will skeete want to fight on if he knows his only british level because skeete seems like a guy that wants to be world class not domestic class

The Spanish lad looks a lot more handy than I expected - perhaps I should have researched him more.

First KD comes from that horrifically low left hand from Skeete. Then some excellent body work from The Spaniard.

Have to say, I very much enjoyed the whole card. Everything was pretty well matched

Oh and as for the other chat, let Skeete rebuild. Losing a fight really isn't a huge deal. This kid might turn out to be properly legit. Might turn out to be a bad day at the office for Skeete. Comeback against low opp and get back among the domestic scene. Then go from there.

Skeete is finished after that . The blueprint is there now. He's been exposed, brutally. Every future opponent will simply walk try to through him and for a lot of them that will be enough and will work.

The Spanish guy looked huge to me at the weight. Really enormous. He looks like a real tough guy to me with real power in both hands.

Agreed something did not seem right about Bradley skeete..perhaps he had some problem? The corner were very quick to throw in the towel...he was on his feet and walking around, not bent over or staggering. Perhaps there's something we don't know...an injury? An illness? In any case it's irrelevant .... no way skeete will ever beat that guy.

To say he's finished is awfully hyperbolic, I think. Fighters get KO'd, it happens. Egginton was unable to just walk through him and got pretty much schooled. If it happens again against a lower level fighter the maybe he is done but this just feels particularly knee jerk to be honest.

To be fair, his jab looked ok through most of the first, start of the second it was like he couldnt jab properly, hangs his left quite low down, very light jabs in an upwards movement from hand being low down.

Im wondering if he injured his arm possibly, just didnt seem right though on watching it back.

Its the big difference between MMA and Boxing. In UFC defeats come with the territory and its not the end but in boxing a couple of losses people go crazy.

Brook lost to GGG and then Spence. Two elite fighters and people were saying he should retire.

Skeete should only call it a day if he has aspirations for world level fights. He will never go that far but if his happy to box domestically then no reason for him to call it a day.
