Does anyone else think this is a very risky bout for Bradley...especially when 140lbs is just heating up. I havn't seen much of Abregu, but he seems to have a decent knockout percentage...although I am unsure of the level of his competition. IF, Abregu causes an upset (which is very possible as it will be Bradley's first time at 147lbs), do you think Bradley will still be in the mix at 140lbs, or will have to prove himself at the weight again?
Bradley will box the **** out of him, likely to a stoppage. Abregu hasn't been in the ring with anyone remotely close to the level of Bradley.
I don't think Bradley will have too much trouble in dealing with Abregu. It'll be an easy nights work, I'm sure of it. If it's an embarrassing loss which reveals his inability to fight at 147, then I'm pretty sure he'll head right back down to 140 and get in the mix with Alexander etc. If it's a close competitve loss, I think he might stay at 147 to avenge it.
What IF...Abregu causes an upset though. What would that mean for Bradley at 140lbs? Bradley wants to move up to 147lbs for the big bouts with Mayweather and Pacquiao, but if he loses this bout...his pursuit will be cut short, however slim those bouts were in the first place. But how will this effect him in terms of potential big bouts with Alexander, Khan, Maidana, etc? Or will it be similar to when Pavlik moved up to face Hopkins...
if he loses, which i cant see happening, he will still be in the mix because he has a title, khan and alexander and must want to unify before movbing up so his stock will go down but he will be relevant because the title will still be his
Definitely...I think he'd most likely try to get Alexander in the ring as soon as possible if he were to take a big loss.
To be honest...he says he is looking for the bouts with Mayweather and Pacquiao, thats why he is moving upto 147lbs. But, if he were to clean up at 140...I see that as his best chance at securing a bout with either. I don't think he will get a bout with either in my opinion, but if he were to unify 140, you never know.
Before, I defended his decision to venture to 147 in the hope of landing bouts with Pac and May. But I'd have to agree with you here, currently he possesses nothing which would make him an attractive choice of opponent for either. He really would be better off wiping the 140 division, build his profile up, and become that fighter that Pac/May would regard as a financially viable choice. Too bad for Bradley that he's stuck with a ***** of a promoter. His talent deserves better.
If Bradley loses and then Khan does face him, people like you will still find another excuse..... "Khan waits for Bradley to lose his invincibility before pouncing on him" or "Bradley was never all that to begin with, he lost to Abregu FFS!".
Exactly...if this bout between Floyd and Manny comes off...I see one or both retiring, depending on the outcome. So the way I see it, Bradley should set his sights on unifying 140...these bouts with Alexander, Khan, and Maidana are big bouts. If he comes out on top in this very talent packed division...he could be the guy everyone wants.
But here's the thing though. As it currently stands, I honestly think Alexander will beat him! And the longer Khan spends with Roach, the more dangerous he'll become too. The only certain victory Bradley will have, will be over the defensively inadequate Maidana. But apart from him, Bradley's reign at 140 doesn't look too stable with the progression of Alexander and Khan. Like you say, it really would be best advised for him to take on Alexander now rather than later.
You're a sad ****. I've read your posts on Boxingnews24 when it comes to Khan. You chat so much ****. You're hatred is discusting and you aren't a fan of Boxing. You're the reason why the sport is Corrupt.
I have to agree...I think out of the 3 (4 if you count Maidana), Khan is going to show the biggest improvement over the next year or so. If Roach can get Khan to control his opponents with his jab like he did Malignaggi...he could surprise a few people.
