I think it was obvious to everyone, but the ref, that the headbutt caused the blood. No punch, the headbutt caused it. But, Campbell did seem to claim he couldn't see, but my take on it is that he knew he was getting his ass handed to him, so he decided claiming he couldn't see would get him a no contest, and keep him from having to suffer a loss, which was coming. But according to the rules, it should have been a no contest, cause a headbutt caused the cut which caused the doctors to stop the fight (but he stopped it caused Campbell *claimed* he couldn't see.) Kind of a twisted situation that reminds me of Rahman/Toney, but this fight should have been ruled a no contest.
Yes, I recall them saying that. So while it was an exit for Campbell who was on his way to losing, it was a legit exit that should have been given to him, even if he was getting thrashed in there. Cause the headbutt and eye (lack of vision or blood behind it) was the reason it was/was going to be, stopped.
It was 3 rounds in. I gave Campbell the 2nd round. Which was a close round. I thought he did better inside fighting and lander the better shots. The 3rd round he got beat on, but that was obvious due to the fact that the head butt shook him up badly. Nate had every reason to stop on more. It wasn't like he was bothered by a cut and wanted out. By having blood behind the eye he had Vitreous Hemorrhage. A vitreous hemorrhage occurs when retinal blood vessels rupture and bleed into the vitreous humor. These hemorrhages result from leakage from abnormal, weak blood vessels and are associated with diabetic retinopathy, trauma and other factors. The immediate consequence of a vitreous hemorrhage is a reduction in the amount of light that can pass through the normally clear vitreous humor to the retina. The effects of a hemorrhage can be limited to a few dark spots in vision or, in the case of a severe vitreous hemorrhage, can result in completely obscured vision. Depending on the severity of the vitreous hemorrhage, it may take several months or significantly longer for the body to reabsorb the blood and for the patient to regain vision. In addition to obstructing the patient's vision, a vitreous hemorrhage often prevents physicians from seeing into the back of the eye to diagnose or treat the cause of the hemorrhage. If extensive or repeated bleeding occurs, fibrous tissue or scarring can form on the retina, which can lead to a detachment of the retina and permanent vision loss or blindness. His chances of perm vision loss were greatly increased. (We don't even know if he has all of his eye sight still). Also this hemmoo A vitreous hemorrhage can sometime takes up to months to just full heal.
Well stated.. didn't like how it seemed after the fight that there was little chance this could be overruled. It was on tape for crying out loud.
This fight can and should be overturned, as a no-contest due to an accidental butt prior to the 4th round. Plain and simple. Anyone who says otherwise is just posturing.
Isn't it funny that even though the fight didn't turn out the way we wanted, some posters felt compelled to comment about my thread. Why? Now as a boxing fan, wouldn't you want to see a good scrap lol...!!!??? It is a shame that I have pissed so many posters off, that they have to comment about me rather than the fight lol... Like I'm laughing my ass off, and I shouldn't be lol... I can't be that bad a nightmare to posters lol...
