dunno if this has started up yet, but anyway here goes

it's this Saturday, August 1st, live on Showtime at 9 PM

24-0 (11 wins by kayo) Timothy Bradley defends his WBO belt vs 33-5-1 (25 wins by kayo) Nate Campbell

    **some background about the fight

their nicknames are "desert storm" and "Galaxxy Warrior"

Bradley is 25 years old, Campbell is 37

the reach is 72 to 69 edge for Campbell

**in his last fight, Bradley won the WBO belt and added it to his WBC belt, but due to boxing politics, the WBC allowed Bradley to unify his belt, with the agreement that his next fight be vs the mandatory challenger Devon Alexander .. since that didn't happen, Bradley was stripped of WBC belt. That's why he lost his WBC belt, and it said so on WBCboxing.com continuing on.

Nate Campbell became the WBA/IBF/WBO unified Lightweight champion 2 fights ago in beating Juan Diaz by Split Decision in Mexico. Unfortunately Nate came in overweight his last fight ... was stripped of the titles

and thus the move up to 140.

-at first glance Campbell has more knockouts then Bradley does wins. T-Brad was down twice in his last fight, so I think the key for Campbell could be his power punching.

    - secondly the age difference, Campbell is not just older, but has more experience fighting at a higher level . some opponents were Casamayor, Kid Diamond and Juan Diaz. However moving up to 140 could be a different story

all things considered I am under the impression that if it goes to a decision Bradley will win by keeping the distance and outboxing Nate for 12 rounds

on the contrary, Bradley's been hurt before, and it could be done again. if it's inside the distance, Campbell gets the nod.

discuss and we can get this thing going more in depth.

Depends what 'Galaxy Truffle' has left in the Tank

Bradley is in his prime and on form But he has been struggling a bit as he moves up in class but he is determined and a hard worker

    Bradley by UD.

Bradley is a very busy fighter his punch output will give him more rounds . . . plus the fact that Campbell is coming in from a long lay off.

It's close , but I have to go with Bradly. Only based on Bradley being a bit more consistant, and on a bit of a roll. When Nate is on, he's quite formidible, but he'll still need one of his better performances to beat Bradly.

I didn't know Campbell had the reach on Bradley like that. I guess it all depends on the energy Nate has, if he can keep up the energy level like he did on Juan Diaz, he can when a wide UD.

Campbell has surprised before, so I wouldn't be shocked if he pulled the upset. Odds are, though, Bradley takes this.

and oh hit you back up on the other thread regarding the Peterson's

** for what it's worth leaning towards Campbell at the moment though

Bradley has a shorter reach, and will have to go inside

I think Nate stands a pretty good chance at stopping T-Brad

I think Bradley SD but if Nate's in great shape like he was against Diaz I can see him winning a UD possibly even stopping Bradley though I doubt it from what i've seen Bradley's pretty tough and recuperates very fast. Anyhow GO NATE!!!!!!! that's who im rooting for and betting on hope he pulls out yet another big upset against a undefeated fighter will be his 3rd if he does.

I've watched a couple of Campbell's fights. I think this is a stylistic mismatch for Campbell. Campbell is too flatfooted, but he does have the power. Thing is, Kendall Holt fought a beautiful counterpunching match vs bradley, partly because he knew he wasn't in shape for the 12 rounder. But regardless, that match vs Bradley was about as good as he could have executed his gameplan against Bradleys onslaught. I gave Holt the nod on that one, tbh.
I thought Bradley stayed in range TOO long, and was trying to knock Holt out. He let his arms go, when he should have slipped out. I don't think Bradley will make this mistake again, and I don't think Campbell will be able to counter like Holt.
Bradley by UD. Although I would love to see Bradley knock someone down like he did Cherry with that counter right. SLIIIIICK

I get the feeling that Campbell's last performance may be a sign of things to come. He struggled down the stretch with Funeka and it looked like he was getting old right there in the ring. Bradley is too young and energetic for Campbell. He will outwork and outhustle Campbell to win a decision. Campbell will be dangerous early but come the second half of the fight I like the workrate of Bradley's to simply be too much for Campbell. Good fight with Bradley by decision.

. you thought Holt won vs Bradley? what the ... im a Holt fan, but outside of the 2 knockdowns, Holt maybe won 3-4 rounds tops (and even 3 or 4 rounds is a bit generous) after watching that fight IMO Holt was a very clear loser after the fights end. I don't think he was anywhere close to winning that fight vs Bradley.

"beautiful" I've said it before, I consider myself a fan of Holt's an I was disgusted at his low punch out put throughout the fight... how he'd give rounds away due to inactivity.

Bradley won the fight by outworking Kendall.

and i'd seriously doubt that was "as good" as Holt could have done, when post fight even Kendall feels he let go of a real opportunity in this fight. It's not like Holt started out really hot and won the first 6 rounds via activity then tired in the last 1/2 of the fight. Holt simply didn't throw enough punches vs Bradley and lost the fight on plain lack of activity. he might be the harder puncher of the 2, but Bradley won more rounds. even if you disagree

    as for the

, Campbell has to just land punches, simply put .. pressure and land .. easier said then done, but I don't think Nate can or has to counter like Holt if he wants to win this fight ... IMO much like he did to Diaz, Nate has to get right in his grill and make it a fight. Make Bradley fight him if you will.

and lastly, doubtful that Bradley could drop Campbell like Cherry (as Edner is a career Lightweight)

Nate might be prone to getting outworked in this fight

which is why he has to take it to Bradley because he's the bigger puncher and very much could stop Tim.
