    Juergen Braehmer defended his title vs. Dmitry Sukhotsky with a UD (116-112, 116-112, 118-112) last night. In Schwerin, Germany, he fought a bloody match and was close to a KO in the 10th round.

    After Braehmer won most of the first 9 rounds, he was hit with a heavy hit to the head in the tenth round. The Russian followed and cornered him at the ropes, punching away and connecting heavy hits to Braehmer's head for half a minute. Braehmer was groggy, with eyes closed, when the referee stopped the fight to let the doctor take a look at the major cuts in Braehmer's face. During this short break, Braehmer cought his breath, and survived the remaining minute of the tenth round.

    Despite a swollen face, he came back into the 11th and 12th round, fighting excitingly despite the damage he took.

    Dimitry Sukhotsky lost his first fight after winning 14 pro bouts.

    I didin't see the fight, but why not stopping it if his eyes were closed? Was he able to trade punches back whilr he was cornered? If not, it should have been a lost by TKO.

    I saw the fight Brahmer won on points no doubt but the fight could definitely be stopped
    in the 10 round.
    I think if Referee hadn't stopped the fight to let the doctor take a look Sukhotsky had Ko' ed Brähmer.

    Was just another Germlandish ripoff, to the fullest...

    Germs, kind of need "World Champions" and generate 'em by money.
    As happened yesterday. Main Actor was, when judges kinda get played out, "My man da Ref"... (;
    It was a clear TKO and the Ref should've either stopped the fight, or at least had to kinda start the count on Braehmer, in RD. 10.
    But he stopped the fight due to B's. cut and let him get his break to recover and regain his breath...

    Don't get me wrong - as for myself I live in G. but I'm, considering myself as a "Boxing-Fan", really pissed off by the habits in certain countries generating their champions.

    Suhotsky was ripped off, to me, yesterday...

    PS: Btw - As far as I dare to know that fight took place at WBC rules, not WBO...(;

    The WBO rank Braehmer as their LHW champion, the champion of the WBC is Jean Pascal.

    And yes, I agree, the belt of Braehmer was saved by the referee. He was pummeled to the border of a (T)KO, defense almost down and not punching back.

    the eyes were not closed, he had a huge cuts over both eyes, but nothing that would prevent him from seeing (well, blood dripping is of course a problem). He was saved by the ref, helped to clean the cut by the ring doc etc...i don't see the point og the original post, though?

    You have to look at the way he got his belt...

    UBP, Germland, where Erdei as well is under contract, kind of forced Erdei to move up in weightclass, so that Brähmer could get "his belt" at the so-called "green table". As far as I'm informed...(;

    In Germlandia, as sad as it is, it is not that good brawls/fight count to the uninformed public.

    To generate TV-money it ist the best thing to show a germlandish born champ...

    And it doesn't matter how "champ" (good) the champion is...

    I'm pissed on that...

    Cheers...

    PS: If you don't get, don't understand any of my talk, I'm sorry for that because I didn't write/talk in english for a long time. Got to get used to it again...

    Agreed. If the fight isn't in Braehmer's backyard, he would have been knocked out. He was out on his feet for about 10 seconds before he came to and clinched, and then he got about a 30 second break for the doctor to look at his eye.

    Boring fight at first, but got pretty entertaining as it went on. Both guys showed some toughness.

    The 10th round was brutal as hell and the ref should've stopped the fight. Braehmer is a tough dude though.

    Personally I didn't think he should have stopped it but I can see where you guys are coming from.

    Brahmer did show heart there.Sukhotsky is better than I thought he was.

    could you please tell us?

    It was clear TKO, if not - Ref should let them finish this round. This **** happens to often in germany. 100% of homecooking...

    Tell you what?

    It was obviously not a clear TKO since the fight continued.

    I didn't like the fact that he stopped the action due to Brahmer's cuts thus stopping Sukhtsky's momentum but I do not think Brahmer should have been stopped on the ropes.

    Brahmer was still defending himself(with not much of success but the gloves were still up there) so i wouldnt have stopped it ,altough The thing that was totally wrong is that the ref made the german survive by taking him to the doctor, otherwise brahmer would have ended laying on the canvas for sure ,that shouldnt have happened , u cant stop the action when one guy is almost out , and give him time to survive for wotever reason(except fouls), thats just unfair
