The only champ who might be interested in him is Stevenson. It'd be hilarious is Adonis got old overnight and took a pounding. I can't see it though.
Gutted it ended the way it did, was turning into a good fight. Regarding Clev not being able to knock the skin off a rice pudding.. we all know Clev isn't a big banger, he was mainly throwing out arm punches setting a high pace... the game plan obviously being to wear the older man out. When he did put his body into some shots, particularly the left hook he was whipping to the body they did look to have some good pop behind them. I think the stoppage was a mixture of two things, obviously the arm but also the pace of the fight perhaps made his decision a little easier. Braehmer has the rematch clause written into the contract so is aware he can 'fight another day'.
A shame it ended when it did it was a good fight, can't see Cleverly holding on to the title for too long. Why the hell is Froch on the commentary? He's ****ing awful.
Really happy for Cleverly, I hope it don't go to his head and he starts chasing the likes of Kovalev. On the fight itself, it was entertaining, lots of punches being thrown and it was back and forth but personally I thought Braehmer just quit, the pace was getting too much for him, he dropped off in the last round of the fight and I think looked for a way out. Braehmer might have felt something but we've seen fighters pop shoulders back in this week and go on to win a fight and after the fight Braehmer was waving at the crowd with the "injured" arm, gave Cleverly a good old hand shake with the "injured" arm and was being led away (dragged) from the crowd by security by the "injured" arm and wtf is a bad of water on his forearm doing for his elbow? Braehmer threw everything he had in the first 6 rounds and didn't even shake Cleverly and I think he was seriously feeling the pace and ducked out.
The Guardian's report is hilarious. Cleverly, 29, formerly the WBO champion, again looked far from the fighter he was before suffering his first professional defeat to Russia’s Sergey Kovalev in 2013. Little thought or skill went into an approach reliant on workrate and an apparent hope his superior size and stamina would tell in the fight’s second half. When has he ever boxed any other way?
Frustrating how the only punch he even tries to put power behind is the left hook to the body. Everything else is powder puff and barely even moves his opponent's head.
n because hes not a world champ. regular is not the world title its just an contenders prize. jurgen has never been world class.
Sauerland has said 'no chance' to the prospect of the rematch being held in Wales. Looking more and more like Braehmer just spewed it. Feel for Cleverly, I think he would have won that properly had it gone on. Now he's still never had a proper conclusive win vs a world champ.
