The bean counters spotted market share opportunities from introducing women's leagues in major contact sports; and many women, after being fed equality trash for years, and despite being clearly superior in a number of facets, jumped at the chance to show their toughness.

I have long considered the issue you raise, and can only surmise that greed is a leading destructive force in our world. It is pure insanity to deliberately damage their brains on one hand and offer them maternity leave on the other.

On research, it is only just gaining momentum with male athletes, and administrators are keeping females under the radar until one gains media attention I suppose, so it appears that on research efforts, the current level could be described as pathetic. Here is a four year old article.

I'm not going to be paternalistic and say that grown ass men can compete in dangerous sports but grown ass women can’t. Women are as free to smoke, drink, and eat themselves to death as men are; why can’t they partake in dangerous sports too?

I did read the article and it is concerning, but only at the informed consent level (as in, the research needs to be done, and the ladies need to know they’re at a bigger risk than men for these sports).

Women typically don't hit as hard, they're not wired that way

Men have a greater bone mass and density compared to women, as well as a larger muscle mass; all factors that would help temper the impact of punches to the head and reduce brain trauma. On the other hand, due to the same factors, female boxers punch nowhere near as hard; ultimately taking both of these mechanisms into account it is probably a wash as to who is taking the more brain damage, but any which way being punched in the head is unequivocally terrible for one's brain. There is such a dearth of data on the long term health of women in combat sports that you cannot form a scientifically based insight on the matter.

Yes, they are actually very susceptible, more so than men. Their brains, skull structure, overall musculature, and bone denisty are inherently unsuited to concussive blows.

One of the reasons I've come to view 3 minutes rounds for women as a bad thing quite actually.

Idk less knockouts but long fights with lots of punches. Im actually kind of curious about this as the women's sport grows in participation and popularity

The nfl cte studies show it's the subconcussive repeated hits to the head causing longterm harm

Well they start out with it so I guess it makes sense to say they are "more susceptible."

My objection is, why expose women to this scourge when men's sports are in existential danger due to it? On paternalism, I have two adult daughters who mean the world to me, and I offer the paternal care and protection I afford them to all females. No apologies for that, like it or lump it.

Men throughout history, I'm talking tens of thousands of years, evolved under conditions where males were often more expendable in warfare, hunting, and other high-risk activities. Male bodies, and especially male skulls and musculature, were shaped in part by generations of physical competition, violence, accidents, and risk taking behavior.

Female bodies generally did not face the same selection pressures. Even in relatively benign sports like gymnastics and association football, women often experience higher concussion rates than men.

Grown adult women have the right to make the choices they want, but the more I read about the differences in how men and women respond to head trauma, the less comfortable I've become with women's boxing.

Women have thinner skulls, less dense bones and muscle mass to protect the body. So, yeah, probably.
Also, I reckon men have a natural instinct for fighting, whereas women do not.

There defense is generally horrible but they also can't punch hard so they take a lot of hits. I remember watching Serrano land at will for 10 rounds on Heather Hardy that was hard to watch.

They do have smaller brains so not as likely to bounce off the skuletal bones especially when being hit by feather fisted ladies.

Heather Hardy has massive brain issues after her career, and she isn't even old. Ladies should read her story to see that they absolutely are not allowed to charge head first.
