Porter knocked out Pauli Last night.

Porter is the same guy who beat Devon decesively as well.

However, Porter is also the same guy who drew with Diaz the first fight, and beat him in a close fight the second time around.

From the above analysis, I think what can be concluded from here is that Julio Diaz is much better then what most people think of him.

In addition, I think these latest events also maximize Khan's win over Diaz as well. Albeit it was a close fight, but competitive none the less.

^It's never as simple as that. Boxing is a very complex system...excluding Floyd/Pac and maybe Bradley now it's extremely stacked and competitive.

Julio Diaz came to win that Khan fight.

And Joel Diaz is a very smart trainer. He watches fights and knows Khan's weaknesses. Them left hooks Julio kept landing were no fluke..and he has some decent power to back them up with. Still not a great performance for Khan...looked aging...his style suited his prime 140 years.

Really 147 is were it's at now. Broner, Berto and Ortiz are out of the picture. Khan is lucky to have the opportunity to prove himself one more time to try and get into that picture. Meanwhile Porter is putting himself up there with Bradley, Pacquiao and Floyd with power puncher Maidana close behind despite being the lesser boxer of the lot. I don't know where to place Alexander...he struggles against the better boxers...

We need to find where Khan, Thurman and Brook are placed at 147 - Won't happen anytime soon for Brook lol. Khan has showed boxing ability in the past to manage some of the guys at 147..but there are alot of tough competitors there right now.

Berto/Ortiz - both should retire - Maybe Marquez too?

Paulie should also retire. He's had a greater career than anyone could ever have imagined and has turned out surprisingly likable as he has got older.

I mean holy crap 147 has everyone. It's extremely hard to place the bottom and middle bunch since they all can lose and win to half of the other people there.

You want a person to retire only because of a couple of setbacks? If you look back in history, all successful people had quite a number of set backs before they achieved their desired goal. Thomas Edison failed 10,000x before he built the light bulb, he didn't quit. Many great boxers in the past have made great come backs, even after when people wrote them off. I find it comical, and rather intriguing, how easily the average person will quit in the midst of the slightest hardship or tribulation.

Styles make fights, Thurman will likely steam through Diaz next week, but I'd fancy Porter to outwork and outhustle Thurman.

Plus Porter beat Diaz comfortably in their rematch.

Porter has been stepping his game up considerably lately.

The winners of Porter-Brook and Thurman-Diaz should fight each other on the undercard of Floyd's September fight. That would set up Floyd's next opponent.
