Fact is that GGG fights more often because his fights cost a fraction of Ward's asking costs- the $850k Andre is taking for Brand is the cheapest purse he's fought for in years. Usual asking price is $1.8-2 mil- that doesn't leave much left to pay for a great opponent.

For the money of one Ward fight, HBO could fund multiple higher-rated GGG fights. So, they did.
