30,000 dollas a lotta money! Didn't even know about Brand until this fight. It depends on how he does in this match. What if he actually wins? Could lead to more higher money and more matches. Fake hope better than no hope.
It's GGGs fault that Ward makes **** and Brand makes chit?? Wow Rat, that is pretty impressive demographic logic. What's your take on GGGs impact on the plight of the inner city?? What do you think Golovkin should be doing to stop ISIS? Why did Gennady frame Steven Avery for that murder?
No one decent wants to fight Ward, he tries and sometimes does screw people over. Kessler one of the best fighters in the past 10 years said when he fought Calzaghe he lost to the better man on the night. When he lost to Ward he was treated terribly then head-butted all over the ring. A really good fighter but a complete liar.
HBO got Golovkin-Stevens for $690k. They're spending $880k for Ward-Brand. If you're running a network, which one would you fund?
Of course Ward, he is going to face Kovalev next. Now if the Kovalev fight was not on the table, Golovkin all the way.
That's the right answer, but I wouldn't have expected Rats to come up with it. :good Fact is that GGG fights more often because his fights cost a fraction of Ward's asking costs- the $850k Andre is taking for Brand is the cheapest purse he's fought for in years. Usual asking price is $1.8-2 mil- that doesn't leave much left to pay for a great opponent. For the money of one Ward fight, HBO could fund multiple higher-rated GGG fights. So, they did. Dude was talking out of his ass like GGG is stopping Ward from being able to afford better options
On his initial status he doesn't deserve more as that, but getting picked out of the crowd he should receive a much larger purse, if only to be able to prepare properly and still making a good number after taxes, paying his team and expenses.
"A side" Ward gets 850,000 and Brand gets 30,000 - Brand should get 850,000 and Ward fined 30,000 for wasting our time. HBO should add a crowd fund option for Brand to the PPV to give him a legit purse to top off this joke.
