1-0 Figueroa. Thank goodness I thought at first that someone tried to "fix" Figueroa and make him box but Fungueroa came out to play.

    Round 1

Figueroa is stalking, putting up a right jab and looking to time Magsayo with a counter left in an exchange. Magsayo however doing a fine job crowding in and getting off combinations before backing out in a hurry. Magsayo getting in more touches but mostly volume taps - with just as many more picked off on the gloves - as he isn't setting his feet and sitting down on them. Figueroa drills him with a left on the body and nearly sits him on the middle rope just before the bell.

    10-9 Figueroa, close

With you on this, I love a guy who's a face first brawler who has other options.

    Round 2

Figueroa is advancing, using head movement to slip the jab as Magsayo dances side to side on the backfoot. Figueroa grinds in close and eats a couple of uppercuts reaching in toward his chest and up beneath his fists. Magsayo blasts Figueroa into the ropes with a combination and Figueroa turns orthodox. They grapple against the ropes after Figueroa clamps down on Magsayo's arms. They exchange wildly, power shots landing both ways, Figueroa digging the body and Magsayo chopping from on high. Excellent infighting. Lead right by Figueroa, partially caught on the left bicep of Magsayo before Figueroa resets at mid-range and switches to southpaw again.

    10-9 Magsayo, close

    19-19
