Nah, punctured lungs would require a sharp object cracking the bones and pushing shrapnel inside, flat, round, soft gloves can't do that, slightly cracked ribs at most. This was accumulation of body shots against a fighter who's nervous system wasn't accustomed to them. The KO blow had a loud, audible snap and probably the timing did the most damage as Nery appeared muscle relaxed, and that's when it hurts most.
