The rules also have a built in penalty for not making the weight. He paid his fine and wasn't eligible to win the title. Rios wanted to move up after the Murray fight. His team made the decision to make this fight at 135. If you can't make the weight then you can't make the weight. I know a lot of fans get off on critcizing these guys, but I'm just being practical here. I thought he lost the the fight regardless, and it wouldn't have benifited him kill himself the day before the fight to try to lose 2 lbs that he and his team didn't believe he could lose.

If I was Brandon I would have made the dumbasses that had decided to keep him at 135 pay his penalty.

They should pay his penalty. They pushed his body past its limit. After Gamboa pulled out, they definately shoudl've fought above 135. I don't know why they were so intent on winning a title that Rios was going to immediately vacate anyway.

BS, he is a fat a$$ that just opened a MexiBurger in Oxnard Ca. the guy likes to eat that's all and got schooled anyway with all those weight advantages, he is going to get KO real soon... Guzman vs Rios at 154 will be a great fight.

and the 2 pounds he gained for the second weight in, or it was miracle, the virgin Rios, common he was eating and didn't care about the contract, for a guy that was on Gamboa's case about a contract he did pretty good with his, and all that BS about being in the best shape of his life and the nutritionist doing a world of good... Abril make him his b1atch

Cuban to your core aren't you? He started drinking water immediately after the first time on the scales. He knew it was pointless to try to lose the last two pounds after he had tried everything he could to lose it. Again, I must remind you that Rios lost nearly 75% of his purse with the fines, Abril compensation. Not to mention he still owes his manager, trainer, nutritionist etc. After missing weight he fought for free. That is not what he had in mind when he took this fight. He had planned to get a nest egg to pay for his new baby boy. It was not too his advantage to come in heavy. Besides, I know Brandon, he hates being embarrassed like that.

I'd like to see Brandon take his training more seriously.
