On the Scene. He was going to move up to 140 but he hopes the fight with Gamboa will come through. He knows Gamboa has speed but his pressure and power will stop the Cuban.
Oh that's great news, but Rios needs to remember that " you can't hit what you can't get to ". Gamboa, besides having more speed, better technique, balance, natural athleticism and amateur accomplishments is going to just get better with Steward. He is not going in to trade with Rios but rather to pick him apart or win by points. I can't wait for this fight !!!
This will test not just Gamboa's skills but his physical training. I hope he hires a good conditioning trainer to make sure he puts on functional weight.
No doubt FOTY. Neither fighter will go down easily or quietly. Major respect to Gamboa taking on the 2nd best lightweight without even testing the waters. Thats pretty bold, but it can definitely be counterproductive. He's a beast tho.
Steward learns a fighter who can punch , to punch harder !!! , Gamboa will do to Rios what Acosta couldnt ................ he'll outbox and out punch him :deal
I would love to see this. I pick Rios by TKO too big and too strong for Gamboa. Props to Gamboa for even considering a dangerous guy like Rios.
Should say that I doubt this fight happens anytime soon but if it does what an awesome fight and good on both these warriors.
