i read on another forum that ortiz and rios were both training with each other under grandpa garcia but ortiz decided to go off with eduardo (or danny?) garcia who had a fall out with his brother roberto and father. because of that rios and grandpa are pissed off with ortiz.
I had seen Peterson fight a few times on ESPN over the years. He's impressed me sometimes and then other times he's been just eh.. This was the first time I've seen Rios and if he fights like that a couple more times he runs the risk of becoming one of my favorites. I might be speaking too soon on this but Rios reminded me of the guy in my avatar against Peterson.
I need to see more before calling myself a fan. However, with Margacheato (bricks) and Varg-ass (roids) in his corner, I knew that he was coming to fight, and not to be an opponent. He handled his business in there, but I want to see a bit more before jumping on the train.
Of course f*ck GBP, Rios is with Top Rank. Now it's maybe difficult to make a fight with those GBP boys, Ortiz and JMM. Anyway there are decent LW at Top Rank too, Acosta, Antillon, Soto and Anthony's bro Lamont Peterson.
Not really. I was liking how he was throwing his right around the guard though. But overall I'm not that impressed.
Rios puts an ass whupping on Soto,Diaz and has a tough time with Funeka but gets him out late. Marquez is probably the only one who beats him but i still give Rios a helluva shot.
Yes Lamont a Super LW but what is 5 lbs. between brothers and stablemate. They can agree on 138 lbs. catchweight.
He pulled off a good win and fought a good fight on the inside, but his defense is lacking and he definitely does not have the experience, 1-punch knockout power, or versatility to handle somebody like Marquez. Unless he aged overnight, Marquez would pick Rios apart and knock him out. It would be a great and competitive fight, but I think he's getting a bit overrated in a win against an up and coming fighter who bit off more than he could chew and suddenly forgot how to fight on the outside.
