I give him credit for the Kat win. But Frietas was a SHELL of the fighter that beat Casamayor when Diaz fought him, and everybody already knew that before hand. Julio Diaz was never anything special, and got thrashed and KO'd by Castillo several years before Juan beat him.
KILLER work-picture from Graham Houston's Rios writeup: 'like a Panzer division against the Polish cavalry.'
I think Rios is the real deal but he's the kind of guy that will shine when an inferior puncher just stands there and trades with him. JMM-Rios is a matchup most people would now like to see but Marquez is still a class above and wins a decision easily.
Why do you hate Froch? His style is something I wouldn't marvel at but the man will fight anyone(Pascal,Taylor,Dirrell,Kessler) and I respect that he didn't give a damn whether he had an 0 or not he'd take any risk. More undefeated fighters(Floyd) need to be like that.
Jealousy??? Of what? Rios wants to shut Victor's mouth. Victor is the one that started this from what I hear. Rios wants to finish it.
I do hope Rios beats the **** out of Victor "The Quitter, i dont deserve to get beat up like this" Ortiz.
Rios was a great watch the other night against Peterson who's heart simply gave out. I loved Rios' post fight interview too, im a fan.
I'm sold, I just became a fan while watching his fight with Teron. Damn I became a fan of 4 fighters today(Qawi,Frazier,Segura,Rios) this day is epic for me lol. All action fighters too.

I love how HBO profiled Peterson and showinf where he was from, his past, like you know who the network was expecting to win....making him an improptu protaganoist. Kind of like they did with a Gamboa 9 months ago.......and to see Rios stand his ground....it was awesome....These are the type of bouts the sport needs. :good
Great work by Rios. Was never a fan of the Peterson bro's...they usually put me to sleep. I loved how Rios imposed "his fight" and never allowed Anthony to get into his comfort zone. Nice overall workmanship by Brandon, he just gained me as a fan as well. Btw Sissy **** by Peterson to get the DQ. WTF was that..
I am not one to say I told you so but.....I have been telling you all that Rios was and is the real deal for over a year.
I dislike Froch because of his attitude after receiving a gift against Dirrell. He was an ******* and gave no props to Dirrell(only criticizing him) after getting dominated. Im not gonna hate on the man, just because the judges were blind but it was his behavior after the fight. Also got lucky against Taylor. Imo the man is so arrogant and hes not even a good fighter hes clumsy, slow. I think hes only gotten as far as he has is cause hes awkward, hard punching and a little lucky. However i do give him props for fighting tough competetion, i really dont see how he beat Pascal. Id bet the ranch Pascal would cream him in a rematch.
True, I can agree with that. That is the only thing I dislike about Froch. I wouldn't say he got lucky against Taylor but he just toke advantage of JT's inability to stop high pressure & bad stamina. As much as I like Pascal I don't think he would "cream" Froch but it would be a great fight....again.
I like Froch more because he was disrespectful to Dirrell. Look at the weigh in and all that. All the time, Dirrell was giving it a big mouth and when they did the stare down, he was screaming bull**** in Froch's face. I hate that type of attitude but if you back it up, fair enough. Dirrell, however, ran like a coward and gave the most disgusting performance from a challenger I've ever seen in boxing. I don't say that as some noob either, I've watched boxing from the 40's onwards since I was a kid, thanks to my dad. His performance was abysmal and pathetic, he showed absolutely no class and deserved every criticism he got - Including off Froch. As for Rios, he's good but I don't rate Peterson. It was a solid enough performance but probably not as good as Katsidis over Mitchell, who is a better opponent, so I think you have to put the win into perspective. Good but he's still unproven. I love his style though. I'm hoping he makes it far.
