hows he overrated? i don't see anyone claiming he's the next p4p #1. he's an exciting fighter with a decent set of skills who comes to fight.

does every fighter have to be in the ring mags p4p top 10 before you give them their dues?

Don't get me wrong...Bam-Bam is a better LW than Maidana is a JWW. I just believe that his success is due less to his skill level than his ability to hit an unnatural weight and bully dudes that can't hurt him. Trust me, El Chino would terrorize the division if he could make the weight. Do you honestly see Rios being as dominant at 140? I certainly don't see Maidana having any success at 147.

He actually is a bit, but only by a select few. There have been claims even dating back a couple of years that he'd knock out Marquez and even Pacquiao. :nut Certainly those speculations are reaching far beyond his grasp. (which is the very definition of overrating...)

He's overrated in the same way that Humberto Soto is overrated - with a disproportionate amount of hyperbole generated by a small but very outspoken minority.

Maybe not as dominant, but i could see him be a force at 140lbs...I would favor him over alot of the top LWWs.

The likes of Bradley, Peterson, and Marquez are probably the only ones i'd favor over him at 140lbs. Matthysee would be very interesting.

I don't like the guy period, IMO he is a low life bully and has no common sense at all, now as a boxing fan I watch and enjoy his fights although he is not what I really like in a boxer, he is an action fighter that will bring excitement into any match until he runs into a Mayweather or Rigondeaux kind of fighter, just don't listen to the guy because he has no education at all... I think Abril will give him some problems unless he is blast out in the first 3 rounds.

Rios is a tough kid with a warrior's mentality and stinging pop. Is he a P4P candidate, no?

But what the ****? Neither is Marcos Maidana, and everybody loved that kid for a few months there.

Everything centers around his bullying style in ring.. once he moves up Lets see if he will be able to do this to bigger guys...His style may just be rendered useless... Not the best chin, nor the best defense, but he has looked good at LW.

Marquez TKO him in the laters rounds.... I Think this should be an easier match then Juan Diaz... who applied fast combinations with pressure....Rios just plods forward with not much speed, nor footspeed, nor waist movement... Marquez will figure him out much easier because Rios is much more predictable and although his shots are much more powerful then Diaz's they also come at a much lower speed, and not in a lot of combinations... Marquez would pick him apart... and that's not counting all the body work Marquez would do on him...

My question exactly. How is he being overrated? Those of us who are his fans see him for what he is. A straight forward, seek and destroy styled fighter. Who is exciting to watch. I for one think he is being underrated here but I can do this because I know him and I know what he can do. We have not seen the best of Bam Bam yet but we will.
