Has anbody realized that 3 out of rios last 4 opponents have been coming off a loss. Rios is facing herrera who is coming off a loss to alvarado. He fought john murray who was coming off a ko loss to kevin mitchell, he fought antillon coming off a loss to soto. Rios needs to step up and fight legit opposition.

Agreed he first needs to decide what weight class he will fight in ..

A fighter coming off a loss is more dangerous than an undefeated fighter. Thats why Mannys resume is better than most. All the fighter he recently fought were very dangerous to the point of almost being illegal because they had recently lost. Theres no tellling what theyll do to win.

Herrera should be on a 3 fight losing streak, yet I'm sure the Top Rank hype machine will have everyone prattling on about what a warrior Rios is for the next 3 months. If they managed to convince people he should get Fighter of the Year consideration last year, glossing over that pathetic performance vs Abril should be just as easy.

If a fighter is coming off a loss then ur not facing top opposition point blank period!! Way to draw the comparison between rios and manny...:patsch

But I agree with the ts rios needs to fight better quality

    Thats right.
But! Herrera is not bad! He fought a great fight against Alvarado. He has the style to make Rios some troubles. It will be not a easy fight, and Rios will take a lot Punishment, until his Punch makes the difference.

Thing is his team knows how limited he is so they chose wisely, they just ****ed up with Abril. No way they will let Rios fight anyone with really good skills because Rios can only beat fighters with no footwork that stand in one place and brawl, Rios is overrated, good heart and very little skill!

To be fair he was supposed to fight Kevin Mitchell instead of John Murray but Mitchell's legal issues messed it up.
