Brandon Rios is a better version of Margarito, in my opinion. He does have good technique. Why do you say otherwise? He puts his punches together well, mixes it up to body and head fairly seamlessly. His greatest strengths are his toughness and will to win. I think it's these qualities that would see him triumph over both Victor Ortiz and Amir Khan. Intangibles.

Most of the guys he's fought can't bang it inside as well as he can. When he comes up against a guy that can hit him as well as he hits others, he will have issues just like his brother Margo. That's not to say I don't like the guy inside the ring, because I do. He's limited but he's really great at what he does do well.

He's tough, he has a chin and a punch @135! Victor and khan have alot of speed and Im not sure if Brandon could deal with the speed. Khan would beat him easily @ 140 and Victor is now a WW so he's too big for brandon!

Back to the fight tomorrow night... Do you get it free in england?

Are you going to stay up?

Victor Ortiz and Amir Khan can't "bang it inside" as well as he can either. You know this, right? Fighters who take some to give some are always described as being limited. I would say the same for his close rivals. Amir Khan hasn't grown to have great punch resistance, regardless of what his camp will tell you, and Victor Ortiz is every bit as hittable as Rios, albeit a little more flashly with his offense.

Why would Khan fight him on the inside? :huh Ortiz could take him. Is Rios calling Ortiz out or something? Did I miss it?

Carlos Maidana possesses a lot of the same strengths as Brandon in my estimation, and he almost defeated Amir Khan at 140lbs. I do consider Rios to be the far superior offensive fighter between the two though. Maidana finds it hard to hit the target a lot of the times, throwing clubbing shots, whereas Rios has the fundamentals and technique to land flush and square on with greater consistancy. Khan didn't beat Maidana easily, he wouldn't beat Brandon easily either, who is a big Lightweight, let's not forget.

    Yes.

    Of course. :good

Irrelevant. I am giving you my thoughts on what would happen if the two were to ever meet. You suggested that he has been winning because his opponents haven't been capable enough to hold their own on the inside. Khan wouldn't want to fight on the inside, correct, but Peterson and Acosta didn't want to either. They both succomb to Rios in the end. Let's not get it twisted. Rios has fought fighters who are not only talented but Bad stylistic match-ups for him, and he still gets the job done. Not bad for a limited fighter.

I didn't say Victor couldn't fight on the inside, but I think Rios does it better. He's more methodical with what he's doing, whereas I get the impression Ortiz is just winging shots half the time. Brandon Rios is a lightweight at this point in time but he certainly has the frame to move up, and I would favour him on an inside altercation with Victor Ortiz. I could also see him being successful in attempting to impose his will on an Amir Khan. Just my opinions, they don't mean much.

Acosta almost put him down, if he had any sense of brawling it might have been different.

Brandon rios is strong @ 135 but we dont know if he would be able to carry his power up to 140. I could see him winning a few rounds against khan but I dont see him winning.. Brandon is a tough man and he has alot of will so maybe he will prove me wrong..

What time does the card start in england? Sky sports?

You serious? Ortiz has been put on his ass more times Juan Manuel Marquez, and Khan was doing a dance for an entire round against Maidana, who is by all accounts a limited fighter himself. I choose not to judge them too harsly though. I prefer to concentrate on the fact that they overcame adversity to win...just as Rios did against Acosta, a very good fighter in his own right.
