From a sheer action perspective, yes. Though, Garcia-Rios wouldn't be that far off. And it would be for higher stakes with DG's titles on the line. Also from an entertaining standpoint, Cote against any permutation of the aforementioned fighters would make for an excellent scrap.
How exactly? How will he get in on him, if Danny doesn't want the fight there? You're not insinuating that Garcia would go chest to chest with Rios like Alvarado just did, are you? Cause if you we're, I have a bridge to sell you. Garcia also hits harder than MA. But, to each their own. :rasta
I'm not sure that he hits harder than Alvarado. His punches are just...how to say it...crispier . Crispy will hang in there and the fight will be competitive I think that Rios will land some big left hooks down stairs that will slow Danny down the stretch. But well Garcia is getting better with every fight so you never know he might have the power to keep Rios honest and to be able to turn him around and stuff. I never seen the Abril fight to be honest but I think that he clinched in order to neutralize Rios?
Lol @ crispier. I think Garcia's mid-range hooks (which Rios was getting caught with tonight from MA) would keep Rios honest. It would definitely be the first time someone would attempt to walk into and through Garcia's shots. Because of the natural loop to Danny's shots, I think it would get around Rios's high guard with regularity. I think this fight would be awesome, stylistically.
Rios would get destroyed, Garcia is a better boxer and punches just hard. Rios is barely B level, Garcia is a notch above in just about every category.
Garcia has a tendency to reach with punches which opens himself up to get countered. He was extremely sloppy at times against Khan. And his footwork is mediocre at best. I think Rios' tireless onslaughts would eventually wear down and force Garcia into an elongated exchange in which I'd favor Rios' chin, which appears to be the preeminent in the sport.
