Rios can't take 140 punches and he can't handle even rudimentary boxers. Rios was hurt at 135 I believe Garcia hurts him as well, plus Garcia can take a punch, give angles and time Rios, who is pretty one dimensional and flawed defensively.
Everything you said about Rios is accurate. Garcia, however has his own defensive flaws and would have to deal with being backed up by Rios' constant pressure; a dynamic that he hasn't had to deal with that this level of competition. Interesting tussle.
Morales brought tremendous pressure and intelligently to Garcia and Garcia handled it greatly. There is no trype of pressure Rios can apply that Morales didn't and I don't think Rios can bring that dumb ass straightline pressure against Garcia at 140, he can't handle the punches to do that.
How do you know rios can't handle the punches? when hes not draining himself he will be even better. he was bone dry alot of the time at lightweight
Morales didn't simply apply pressure, he countered him at range from the outside with his overhand right and neutralized Garcia's jab while giving him very little to counter (until the latter rounds.) Rios's pressure would be completely different. Garcia is a good flat-footed counter-puncher but I don't see him escaping a healthy Rios's pressure. Acosta was twice as mobile and was eventually caught.
