Assuming Katsidis does what he's supposed to and obliterates Lozada next month.

I see this one getting ugly, and if Katsidis style doesn't mesh well against Rios, we could very well see another pro-longed beating.

But let's assume Rios style meshes well with Katsidis, meaning both fighters can pretty much land at will. I say if that's the case, unless Katsidis has changed something, I don't see him being on the better end of things.

I think the fight will be fun for awhile, but I feel Rios breaks Katsidis down late, and probably tko's him around the 8th.

    Thoughts?

    Katsidis is damaged goods.
katsidis has lost his last 2 fights (1 loss by KO to JMM), and now Rios wants Katsidis to earn more wear-m-tear by waiting for Katsidis to finish fighting next month, before Rios can feast on a "battle-worned/shop-worned" katsidis.:patsch

Why doesnt Rios fight the fighters that have been calling him out.

Mercisto Gersa, John Murray, Jorge Linares, Juan Diaz.

    Rios has already ducked them.

Why would you ***** about his fighting a "****" fight only to suggest other "****" fights? Gersa, Diaz...seriously, I mean Paulie Malinaggi beat Diaz for ****s sake...Diaz is done breh.

Poor Katsidis, I don't like how he's just getting signed up for beatings because he's an action fighter.

Katsidis is too brave and willing not to make a fight of it. But he is likely to bleed his way to a stoppage loss against someone as good as Rios.

Yea it's looking like he's most likely in for a beating.

Even if Katsidis managed to pull out a win somehow, it will be after going through hell to do so.

I'll be rooting for Kats, and just hope he comes out healthy.

It would be awesome if Mike could actually pull out some legit Gatti style **** in this one... I know I know....

Why are people writing Kats off so quickly? The fighters that Katsidis does badly against are very different to Rios. I think it will be MUCH more competitive than yall think and Katsidis will have a real go at it. I am not saying this as a blind fan, Katsidis is the best fighter Rios has faced and i think he will take this young guy into deep waters. He might not be able to drown him, but i dont think it will be a one sided beatdown for 3 rounds and then over like the Antillon fight.

Because Rios is moving forward, not backwards. If Gesta can get a few more impressive wins under his belt, Rios will fight him. If Rios wants a piece of a bigger, stronger Ortiz, I see no reason why Rios would be afraid of unproven Gesta.

Gersa and Diaz have more energy and are tougher fighters than Katsidis.

Katsidis already has alot of mileage on him and are waiting for him to fight next month, so that he doesnt have much time to rest and heal before he fights a fresher Rios.

    Paulie is a hit-n-run boxer.
Diaz is a stand-n-fight brawlers that still has the tools to make a good tough fight, which is why Rios ducked him, cause Rios is scared of a real tough challenge.

I agree that Rios style is better for Katsidis, in the fact that's the kind of fight that suits Katsidis style. But in the same respect, we pretty much know that no matter who wins, Mike is going to go through hell in this one. And we just saw him go through hell in his last two fights, and the damage is starting to add up quick.

I am a huge fan of Kats, but I think for me seeing him in the ring next month will be good, as the last we've seen, was a rough Guerrero fight, it which he had his moments, but recieved some serious punishment overall.

You are right though, Katsidis does have a chance, and I don't think it will be a 3 round blow out like the Antillon fight either.
