Really. I haven't seen any of the press conferences. Outside of the ring he has proven to be a bit unstable in the past and I know that it seemed to me like in some of the eli seckbach vids after the abril loss.....um I mean SD victory....that his confidence looked a little shaken. Especially in the vids with him and Midiana. Maybe he's got a bad case of the hebe-gebes.

Hope not cause if he's ready to go to war then he'll probably break Alvarado down.

Update: I have listened to the latest press conference and it was fairly reassuring. Rios just seems all bussiness. Like he's not ****ing around for this fight. Didn't seem intimidated or over awed by the moment. My guess is this is a good thing...cause they guy that was showing his dance moves in the dressing room for the HBO cameras instead of warming up on the mitts before the Abril fight would get ****ed up against Alvarado.

Just listened to that press conference that got posted earlier in this thread. Funniest part was when the reporter asked Robert Garcia if he bought Henry Delgado's (Alvarado's trainer) assertion that Alvarado has so many skills that have never been seen before and that they are going to come out with a lot of surprises to catch Rios off guard. And Robert Garcia basically says something to the affect of "Skills???? What skills? I've never seen them before in his fights?" and goes on to say that a he has no idea what Delgado is talking about and that a statement like that basically shows he [Delgado] doesn't know what he's doing.:lol::lol::lol:

The rest of the conference call was pretty tame from both sides but just the way Garcia reacted like "***** you craaazey?!?!?!?" pretty much shows you what the Rios camp thinks of Alvarado's skills.

This'll be fight of the year and Donaire vs Nishi will be right up there. I'm definitely going to have friends over. Probably have a barbeque before hand too.

This is a great opportunity to convert skeptics to our boxing religion.

Rios late stoppage. Alvarado has problems making 140lbs I believe and I believe he hasn't taken what he's been dishing out to opponents like Herrera and Presscot.

    Good :good

The earlier interviews that I had seen, Rios seemed very uncharacteristic, and its never cool to be crazy with guys youre stronger then, and then all tame with a bigger guy.

So if you say Rios is acting more normal now im happy. Hes the one Im rooting for this weekend, even though I have my doubts that he can do it.

I never seen any of the early interviews for this fight but I did see a bunch of short Elie Seckbach vids with him in it after the Abril fight and even at the start of this training camp. I agree he seemed different. But my guess is that the abril loss shook him up a bit and dented his confidence. It seems like throughout the course of this training camp he's gotten his mojo back. But the danger is that if things don't go his way early some of those doubts might start to creep in agian. I doubt it though. The guy is really professional. I recently watched the peterson fight and I've almost never seen a guy get low blowed that often and that hard. And he never complained once. Never lost his cool. Just kept going about his business. That shows a lot about his mental toughness. So I figure that as long as he's in a good place going into the ring he's mentally tough enough to stick to the game plan no matter what once the fight starts.

I expect him to win this fight. But thats only because I don't think Alvarado has the skills to hang with him on the inside. If I'm wrong though Alvarado is the bigger stronger guy and he will break brandon down.

I'd like to be wrong, but I think Rios is gonna take it. Tough call though, in a fight like this.
