Alvarado is fighting a smarter on the inside than his previous fight. He's not leaving himself open as much and he's picking hits shots. Rios looks freshers and stronger, but Alvarado is in this fight.

Alvarado's eyes are closed if they reach the 8th this time.

The difference in this fight is Alvarado is really committing to his punches...but all signs point to this NOT being Rios' Margarito-Mosley...

That day is coming soon though...

I'd like Alvarado to throw more of those roundhouse rights.

Stop pitching us Shiming vs. Valenzuela, HBO. :-(

It's a 4-rounder with a guy making his pro debut.

It's hardly any more exciting than Taras Shelestyuk making his 4-round pro debut on the opening bout of ESPN FNF last night.

Yeah, yeah - Zou is a 2-time Olympic gold medalist while Shelestyuk is "only" a bronze medalist - but honestly you can argue Zou didn't in truth deserve either gold. He's also getting on in years to make the switch, has been declining noticeably, and doesn't have a style that will translate all that well anyway.

alvarado has the power. Left hook to the body would slow the forward movement of Rios

    Round 6

Alvarado is circling and putting in left jabs to the face and left hooks to the body. Alvarado is using the right hand just to steady himself and set up the lefts. Right hand by Rios clapping over the top. 1-2-3 by Alvarado. Rios tries walking Alvarado into the ropes, but Alvarado is bouncing to either side on his toes. Hard right hand by Alvarado, and several quick jabs. Alvarado misses a 1-2 and Rios hammers him with left hooks on the back. BIG right hand by Alvarado. BIG UPPERCUTS BY RIOS. UPPERCUT BY ALVARADO!!

    10-9 Alvarado

    59-55 Alvarado

Rios is not the same as the first fight. The weight might be bothering Brandon.
