I thought he was damn fine against Antillon.

But the question here is, how good is he? Mitchell was far more impressive against Murray IMO, and Rios looked utter shite against Abril. But how much of this was down to the weight draining? If the answer is 'a lot', how will adding 5lbs make that much of a difference?

Again, don't get the fuss with Antillon. Rios mullered him. Antillon has never been all that.

My point is just because Rios beat a few above average-to-good (Acosta very good IMO) fighters doesn't mean ****. I'm not convinced that he's not living up to his potential, and think his main advantages will be lost when he moves up in weight.

I don't think he can walk into a top five position in another weight, based on being the no.2 lightweight in the World.

Does that mean an unsluggish and fully fit Rios can cope with/hurt bigger guys? Not IMO, though of course not ruling it out either.

I think Antillon was a pretty decent fighter, but Rios' performance was excellent IMO.

I honestly believe he'll be able to bully Khan, Garcia and Maidana at 140

I'd definitely favour Bradley and Marquez over him tho. Probably Matthysse as well

Matthysse is another guy I just do not see the buzz about. Another 'puncher' who has no more than an accumulative dig at the top level and sporadic accuracy. He's one guy I'd favour Rios over for sure.

Of course, the possitive side of Rios stepping up is, whether people rate him or not, he'll be in some entertaining fights up there!

Quite a few predicting Rios would beat Gamboa but that fight never happened. Any changed they mind on how that fight would have played out?

For what its worth, I still think Rios would have leathered Gamboa late on. Gamboa doesnt have the defensive prowess to frustrate Rios like Abril did. He also tends to lose concentration in his fights and has been dropped before by lighter hitters than Bam Bam. Against Rios, that would spell disaster.

Gamboa would out box Rios, before being stopped late

Doubt it, Rios is far too slow and ponderous to land anything meaningful on Gamboa.

Oh, I was wrong about Rios-Gamboa. The guy is dead at 135.

The Rios of the Acosta fight would muller Gamboa IMO.
