Rios is a crude boxer with poor defense, young and tough, but that will soon end. He will go down as a Diego Corrales type fighter. Tough as nails, but too easy to hit. We'll see a lot of him on HBO, but dont expect him to be a dominant champion.

Brandon rios only became champion this year, acosta was a very good win.
The next 5/6 year will be good for him, lets give it some time before evaluating his wins, its not like he is top p4p ranked right now.

Rios hasn't moved into any pfp discussions but he's clearly made himself one of the top guys from 135-140. He has a few nice wins actually-Acosta, Peterson, and Antillon are all good wins. His next fight won't add much but I'm sure he'll be in some big fights the next few years.

Peterson, acosta, antillon all essentially by knockout.

Rios is the best lw in the world at the moment with marquez and soto moving up.

I'd love to see rios v demarco and vasquez after john murray (he'll be another notable opponent)

Brandon is a good young guy. Acosta is his biggest win ( top 5 at the time ). He is also facing John Murray this december, murray lost to Mitch but is still a good LW contender. Give him a shot, great fighter.

And boxrec's all time Heavyweight ranking has Schmeling at #7 while Tyson and Foreman barely scrape into the top 20. What's your point?

Rios is a good, tough young brawler. He'll probably burn out at a not much higher level than he is right now after taking too much punishment in order to dish his own out, but for right now he's a handful for anyone who isn't an A fighter, especially someone who stands toe to toe up close.
