I think Vera can do alright hes got above average wrestling skills and it doesnt take much to put Silva on his back now can he submitt him I seriously doubt it maybe more of stalling action. Standing Vera is dangerous but I think he is to passive and Silva maybe intimdate him some but hes not KOing Vera if Sylvia couldnt hurt him I cant imagine Silva does.

If Vera fights like he did last night he has a chance, but he usually has fought nothing like that, whereas Silva equals or better that performance time and time again.

Anderson Silva has not fought for so long I have no idea what state he is in. But if he fight his at his level he would beat Vera, who is inconsistent.

I don't see a KO if Vera is at his best.

    Silva on points imo.

Lol i just voted Siva by easy KO and i see i'm not the only one. Put virtually anyone against Anderson in a poll and you'll get the same result.

Vera did great last night but it's much easier to look good against not the highest caliber competition.

hahaha I love my pinoy fighters but.. no hes not ready

Ill say one thing, people who knows **** about fighting and combat sports in general exposes themselves all over these forums.

Note: We are not saying that Vera is a world beater but you guys need to stop blabbering about how he looked good because he was fighting a bum.

When you look at fighters, you look at their form and skillset, movement, precision..Vera has all these striking tools whether hes fighting a heavy bag or a contender. It doesnt change! The man has talent and to somehow insinuate that he has form only because hes fighting a can shows the complete lack of knowledge about the sport.

Now as far as Vera is concerned, his striking may not be as varied and dynamic as Anderson but he is the closest in the division as far as overall striking with semblance of clean technique. His problem is mental and lack of desire and focus. The man has 10 movies in the Philippines in over a year, this shows you what this mans priorities are.

I understand your point but form alone doesn't make you a good fighter.

The truth is, it's easy for a fighter to look good when he is fighting someone who is barely fighting back.

Its my point you missed. Brandon Vera is talented. Hes the guy you watch in training and say, wow, this kid has proper technique, good power, good chin. I wonder why hes not contending for the title.

He is no Chris Leben who looks good against cans but in reality is pretty flwed technique wise. Veras problem is mental, he had Sylvia, Werdum is some bad positions standing up when he throws.

His problem is that he thinks by throwing two punches and kicks in a round, hes got it in a bag and he did enough.

Lets give the guy a break, to no fault but his own, he missed over a year, then fought Sylvia. Then he drops and looked horrendous. Ive never seen him as fit at 205 til last Saturday and he looked completely focused, as focused Id say when he destroyed HW champ Frank Mir two years ago and Vera was fat.

I don't disagree. My only point is that one great showing over a can, though I don't think Patt was HORRIBLE, and looking unspectacular in fights before that, doesn't mean you can beat a top 3 p4p fighter. Vera can fairly soon be a major contender for the title at 205, without a doubt.

Fair enough, and yes Patt was decent any big guy like that who throws a mean roundhouse gets my respect, but Vera took the fight out of him.

One thing about Vera, its nice and good to be training hard (and he looked like it) and the guy has charisma but he talks so damn much! This kid is unbelievable, he beat a fat Mir and he was on Philippine TV and says he wants to be the next Manny Pacquaio:lol:
