    Who's going to win? Why?

Jones has definite skills and uncanny strength for his particular build, does he have what it takes to beat someone as seasoned as Vera? Or has he bitten of more than he can chew?

IMO Vera has only himself to blaim for 3 of his 4 losses had he stepped it up a notch he would own wins over Jardine, Sylvia and Couture. Depsite what he says about going into this fight more aggressive I dont believe it and I expect Jon Jones to do much work in the fight and come away with a decision. Vera is going to be a hard guy to dominate because of his takedown defense, striking technique and footwork but agian his workrate is the issue and I think Jones will push the pace a bit more. The fight im exicted for on Sunday really is JDS-Gonzaga.

    Hell yeah!

I'm also looking forward to Vera/Jones. I keep watching Jones and can't believe how strong he is with his streak of **** build and spastic striking. It a tuff one to call because Vera's skillset really might negate everything the youngster does, and i have a feeling we are going to finally see a really motivated and active Vera. He knows people are down on him and he's gone from top talent and elite to boring and unmarketable quite quickly...I reckon we might see him really on, like when Klitschko fought Lewis; everyone thought he sucked, had no heart, was a quitter, his brother was a china-chinned joke etc, and he just went out and had to fight for his pride. I really think Vera has one or two of those nights in him. But then I'm the eternal optimist and am still cheering on Evander and Randy...

Could go either way...Jones is the better wrestler though...and he seems to be extremely motivated...Vera isn't as motivated as he used to be imo..

Of course that's just my opinion and maybe i'm full of ****...Maybe Vera still has high ambitions...who knows.

Anyway , this should be an interesting fight.

Vera talks a good fight but he did this prior to Couture and did not fight like a man possessed.

I think Jon Jones the Martian Manhunter has the perfect style to beat Vera. Vera is too cautious and measured whereas Jones is wild and unpredictable. He will open up and be all over Vera. I expect Vera to be overwhelmed through all three rounds to a unanimous decision.

I believe Jones will knock Vera out. I'll be surprised if it goes to the 2nd round.

Well, Jon Jones says he wants to go muay thai vs muay thai and beat Vera at his own game. I wouldn't be shocked if he pulled it off, but why give Vera confidence? Vera's biggest weakness is his propensity to play it safe in big fights and not get after it. It may be just talk, but Jones seriously needs to use his wrestling and g'n'p his way to victory.

This is really overating Jones someone who has no recent history as a KO artist. Vera took dozens of shots vs Tim Sylvia who was a legit Heavyweight with power, took Jardines punches fine etc the guy has a strong chin.

Jones would have a recent ko if he hadn't thrown those downward elbows against Hamill. As it stands, 5 of his 9 wins are by ko.

I think Vera and Jones will start off fast. When the action heats up, I believe that Jones will to capitalize on his hand speed advantage.

I don't know if you can claim that someone is overrating someone based solely on a fight prediction. It's not like I am clamoring for a Jones' title shot, which will be justifiable if he defeats Vera. If Jones stops Vera, will you believe that Vera is overrated?

Well you predicted a KO before the 2nd round. In my eyes a KO is standup if you mean a ground stoppage then say that. No disrespect to Matt Hamil but he looked like a fish out of water on his back ive seen Vera handle himself better on his back. Jones has a speed advantage but most of his striking is those special moves like spinning backfist and kicks. Vera rarley gets hit clean and shouldnt be caught to many times by those types of moves I think Jones will outwork him and handle alot of grazzing shots. If Vera goes out and throws his hard legs kick at a high rate I think he can slow Jones down who showed questionable stamina vs Stephan Bonnar. IMO Vera has just as much potential to be a superstar in this divison as Jones does its just a matter of him being aggressive enough and taking chances in close fights.

Vera is a fairly durable fighter. I seriously doubt that Jones will be able to stop him. However it would be nice for Vera to snap out of his Zab Judah syndrome and fight up to his potential all of a sudden.

Jon Jones for the win. I just don't see Vera winning this fight. Can he win? Of course he can. He is an amazing fighter. Will he win? I doubt it. He doesn't seem to have the heart. That's a damn shame to because he has the potential to go far.
