Did he even make it on to TV? I havent seen the fight yet but from what ive been reading he did a better job on Molina than Wilder did. And he wants to face Wilder after what the twat did infront of Brazeales kids. Yet he isnt getting a mention on here. Surely we gotta be impressed he dealt with Molina better than one of the world champions did?
He didn't make it to tv. Also, Molina came in very fat. Breazeale got the knockout out, but with Molina coming in at over 250lbs Breazeale should've made short work of him. Breazeale vs. Eric Molina 250lbs This content is protected Wilder vs. Eric Molina 239lbs This content is protected
Well, lots of fighters recently have handled Wilder's opponents better than he himself did, and it was only a round earlier that he KOed him so not that much to shout about. Regardless, it's a solid win for Breazeale so congrats to him. Hope he puts a beating on Wilder, but realistically he's going to take a shellacking.
That weight is a bit disapointing really. If Wilder Joshua doesnt happen next i think i would much rather have Wilder against Brazeale than Whyte. In my opinion Wilder smashes them both but Brazeale has something he feels he needs sorting out in the ring with Wilder and Deontay feels the same way. Much more interesting than the Whyte fight.
I don't know how well Breazeale did at the weekend. They would not show the fight in the UK, and I can not find the full fight on YouTube.
Breazeale fundamentally is terrible but is tough as nails... Thus expect Wilder to put on an absolute beating on him before securing the stoppage late.
How come white heavyweights never look ripped? Always look like shapeless splats of my attempts at making noodle dough.
Breazeale has surprised me and bounced back well from the Joshua loss. As others have mentioned he is poor technically. His punching technique is awful and has a terrible jab which usually for a tall heavy is a huge red flag but he has a decent chin, solid power and a ton of heart.
I actually think I'd prefer Breazeale too. I favour Wilder to beat them both but Breazeale would be a more interesting fight for me.
No we shouldn't be impressed that he delt with Molina quicker than a world champion, after all, isn't this where someone should have come along an reminded people that Molina is shot to **** after being brutalized for 9 rounds and dropped 4 times by Wilder, then getting polished off by AJ, then apparently having gone life and death with friggin Jamal Woods in September. Breazeale should have KO'd him in 2 or 3, its embarrassing it took him as long as it did.
Wilder deserves to be a big favourite & will probably win, but I like Breazeale as an opponent for him. Televising Breazeale's fight may have generated a bit more interest in the match-up so Showtime didn't do him any favours. Kind of hard not to like Breazeale after his effort against Izu.
I agree that we shouldn't be impressed, but I honestly didn't think he was going to do any better than Wilder and am not sure he even did. I wasn't expecting Breazeale to just walk through Molina, Breazeale isn't that good. Little harsh to say Molina was shot to ****. He's prime after being KO'ed by Arreola in 1 when facing Wilder despite being over 10lbs overweight for Wilder, then only a couple of years later he's shot after losing to Wilder and Joshua, reallyy? He is only 35, Molina was never any good, he's probably faded at 35, but probably not shot. He's just fighting at a higher level and been shown to lack the ability to compete. Remember a shot Adamek was comfortably ahead when he was KO'ed.
Why does anyone give any heavyweight any credit for beating Eric Molina? Seriously? What is his best win? Shot, pushing-40 Goral Adamek? What's his 2nd best? Tony Grano? Are you kidding me? This guy just inherited (and has been living off the fat of) a share of Chris Arreola's stupidly overblown hype simply because they had a back and forth two minute blitzkrieg. Before that fight nobody even knew who Molina was. Since then he doesn't have a single meaningful victory over a top rated heavyweight (nor did he before then) and has done nothing but get destroyed when he steps up (oh boy, he very briefly stunned Wilder in the midst of an otherwise pretty one-sided beatdown; not like anybody had ever questioned Wilder's chin before!) So wtf? Arreola didn't initially deserve credit for surviving getting momentarily buzzed to KO1 this perpetually fat nobody. So neither do Wilder, Joshua, nor Breazeale deserve a shred of credit for stopping him either.
Hes way off the mark if he wants to last beyond 6 with wilder. Defensive holes and looks slow as ever,i wonder what he weighed fight night? Guys got to slim down to 250 .He showed more feints and more cautious approach looking for openings but thats useless without better accuracy and leaving yourself open when you go on the offense .
