Lemmy get this straight. You thought he clearly lost all eight of those fights from the bout with Merqui Sosa thru JC Gonzalez? Is that what your saying?

Just a note on G Johnsons SMW career -
In 12 SMW fights Johnson has lost 6 of them.
Johnson has lost at SMW to -

M Sosa who had 5 losses and 2 draws, and lost his next 2 fights after beating Johnson
Kiwanuka who had 3 losses and 2 draws, had lost his last 2 fights coming into his fight with Johnson and his fight after Johnson
Ottke 16-0 who in fairness was an outstanding SMW boxer
Vanderpool 27-1 who lost his next fight, but in fairness that was at MW to Hopkins and Vanderpool had a good run after
Branco 38-4-2 who was a world class SMW and became WBA LHW champ
Sheika who was 19-1 and lost his next fight, though in fairness that was to Calzaghe.

The SMWs that Johnson has managed to beat
Campas 3-20-4 coming off of only 2 losses and won his next fight
Watson 24-16-1, Johnson was his last fight
Renteria 9-23-5 coming in, whos last 10 fight record before facing Johnson was 0-8-2
Zimmerman 15-2-0 coming in, who had lost his previous fight and the one after
A Green 29-2-0 coming in and Johnsons biggest SMW victory

Its not impressive now is it. Please spare me the robbery talk.
If any rated SMW losses to Johnson it wont look good on their resume

If you asked me to pick between Clinton Woods and Froch in a fight at 175, I honestly might pick Woods.

And in regards to Sylvio Branco...I think Johnson's robbery claims are sometimes overstated especially in recent years but I felt he won that fight comfortably and apparently so did many of the Italian fans in attendence that night.

The best version of Froch versus the best version of Johnson could well be a FOTY candidate.

But Johnson is getting older, and has come down in weight to SMW where his successes are less. Still, I can't get past just how tough he is, and his enormous experience.

I'm going to tip Froch to win, but not easily. Froch was given a boxing lesson by JT and was 14 seconds away from being humilated. He won a controversial fight with Dirrell, where everyone knew that Dirrell was the better boxer. He got beaten fair and square by a Kessler who was past his best and whose health was questionable. Despite these blotches on his resume, he has also shown constant improvement. Enough so that he should probably beat Johnson, who years ago had as good a claim as anyone to being the best LHW on the planet.

We know the kind of boxer that can beat Froch. He will get humiliated by Ward, and would probably lose a rematch to Dirrell. But Johnson? He isn't the stylistic mismatch for Froch, and so Froch will likely win. But it won't be easy. Write off the road warrior and regret it.

I agree. Glen was looking good against Green and his stsyle may trouble Froch.

I see this as being a difficult fight, though I expect Froch to win.

If Froch wins in a dominating fashion then I'll be surprised and impressed.

No I'm saying he lost a fair few of them, and I'm saying he would not have lost them, had he been as good as people think he is. If he can beat Froch, why is he having extremely close fights with below par opposition? Is he really that good if he's been life and death with the likes of Derrick Harmon and Marqui Sosa?

I expect an easy win for Carl Froch. I think he beats him on the inside and outside.

I think Johnson pulls off the upset. But, Froch could get the knockout if he lands that big right hand and Johnson can't take em at 168

Froch by close but fair UD. The jab will be important in disrupting Glen johnson's rhythm. Expect fireworks at times as well

We need a poll for this.

I think Froch will take this via TKO. Glen Johnson is a veteran fighter but I think that age will finally catch up with him in this fight. He will be 42 by the time he fights Froch and I don't think that he has the same genes as BHop.

Froch not going to be Koed. He has been down once. Given he has ignored his trainer most of his career and opted to take punches on the chin to get his own off. Why do you think Glen has got the power to hurt him?

More importantly given Froch looks ten times better when he listens to his trainer why do you think Glen going to get to him?

I have seen Glen taken apart by Hopkins ten years ago. High tempo beats Glen ten years ago. At 40 not allowed to set his own pace he will struggle.
If Froch choose to trade all night I would better on his stamina above Glen. Froch likes guys coming at him. Sounds like Glen Johnson.

Never seen Froch troubled by guys coming to fight. Guys that get on their bike like Dirrell are the guys Froch hates to fight. Sorry Taylor troubled Froch by boxing him. JT got his shots off first, the same way he did with BH and KP. Has Glen ever had JT speed? No.

JT speed would be worth a post. Thinking about it if he did not have stamina issues or opted to get on his bike when well ahead in fights he would be an ATG.
