Life and death? How many months did Johnson spend in the ICU?

In the 30s, 40s and 50s, a loss was treated as a learning experience. IMO Johnson had more than learned his lesson(s). 2011 is not 2000 for Johnson anymore than it is 2004.

Will he defeat Froch? I don't think so, but time will tell. IF Froch is superman why isn't he still undefeated? As long as he is throwing punches, Johnson has a chance at winning.

I envision a relatively sloppy affair on Froch's part where he wins a close unanimous decision where Johnson yet again feels he gets the short end of the stick.

I have a tough time envisioning Johnson winning the fight. And should he win the fight, all the Froch love that's been going around since the AA fight will seem completely undeserved. Froch should win...

Johnson really did look more than serviceable against Green and is always a strong and game challenger, but the form Froch showed against Abraham (and his ability to withhold from getting drawn into a brawl) make him a clear outright favorite to win a UD here.

I think a lot of people are riding high on Froch's victory over AA. Johnson will give Froch all that he can handle. I want to see how Froch handles Glen's pressure throughout the fight, he's never seen a pressure fighter in his whole career like Glen and I don't think he's particularly skilled enough to keep Glen off him all night. This is a 50-50 fight IMO or with Glen the slight favorite.

No, things have just balanced out. Before the Froch-Abraham fight, people were kicking the clouds in the aftermath of Johnson-Green...saying that Froch was going to get KTFO and Ward would get all he could handle in the final (and possibly lose).

Glen Johnson did well to train hard, dial it back and beat the stuffing out of Green at his age...but it was Allan ****ing Green. I rate a dominant win over Abraham a lot higher than any kind of win over Green - even if it was a KO1 with six consecutive knockdowns punctuated by knocking him out of the ropes and into the eighth row.

When I read comments from people saying Froch will knock Glen Johnson out, will beat him from the inside or outside, or even beat him easily, then yeah I think those people are riding high on that win over AA. I don't think a prime Froch can beat any version of Glen Johnson easily or knock him out.

Froch looked great against Abraham but AA is a small SMW with a low punch output who didn't let his hands go. Glen Johnson is quite the opposite, he will make Froch fight for all 12 rounds. I've never seen Froch in the ring with a fighter that will relentlessly pressure him over the course of 12 rounds and I'm curious to see how he will handle it.

Like I said I think his boxing skills are overrated, so he will have to box his best to hopefully keep Glen off him, or fight him off....Either way, it's gonna be a great fight.

I agree in a sense myself. Green isn't in the same class as Johnson and the only concerns I had at all about that fight were simply A) would Johnson finally become completely old overnight and B) would Johnson be weight drained. Therefore, I don't think it was a big deal that Johnson got that win because I was expecting it.

However, I think in some ways Froch's win over Abraham is being overvalued a little and I think some of it is that it was FROCH who did it. I'm an AA fan, but he has some obvious vulnerabilities, and of course it showed badly in his loss to Dirrell. Now, many people didn't think Froch had the technically skill and the movement to bother AA in the manner Dirrell did, that much is true. But it's not like it was a secret that Froch could box a little (he outboxed Pascal at length in their fight). I think it's just that we have the image of Froch as the pure, high workrate brawler that shocks people.

The thing is, Froch didn't get drawn into a brawl with Abraham because Abraham doesn't tend to fancy himself as a brawler (even if he's a bit crude), he has more of a boxer-puncher approach and seemed to maintain that position no matter how far he was behind.

Now, I definitely rate Froch's domination over AA as a bigger deal than Johnson KO'ing Green, but if people are expecting Froch-Johnson to be Froch-AA II they're in for a rude awakening. The only way I see that happening is Johnson getting completely old overnight.

If Froch boxes Johnson he should beat him.
