WTF? Jones' doctor told him that he needed surgery. He didn't want it and got a second opinion that backed up him. He said that he was good to fight a couple of months ago. Blame the UFC not Jones if you really want to see him fight Rashad. They had more than enough time find a replacement main event for 133 and hype Jones/Evans for 135. It's clear that Rashad is in Zuffa's doghouse and that they don't want him to get another title shot.

I don't really understand this entire post, but most especially the line in red. Why so desperate to see Rashad fight for the title? If he can't beat Machida, then he doesn't deserve the title shot, no?

Jones vs Evans would be the most pointless, one-sided beatdown in UFC title fight history. Rashad would be stanky-legged into oblivion within the first minute. At least Machida would pose some problems for Bones with his movement and speed.

I get that, I'm just talking about Evans vs. Machida, not so much Jones vs. Machida. I feel with Evans vs. Jones you've got an interesting story and Rashad is still a worthy scalp for Jones. Machida will blow him out of the water again and the match just has no intrigue or "what's gonna happen". I like Rashad, I'm always rooting against him in his fights and it was time for him to lose the belt against Lyoto but I don't want to see Machida beat him and then get the title shot, because where do they go from there? The match hasn't been given enough hype nor is there enough questions for there to be a rematch yet. I'd like to see Jones vs. Evans, and I think they're wiping out that opportunity putting him in with Machida. Rampage shouldn't get the shot full stop, they should put Rashad in his place and do something else.

And yeah, it's correct JJ wanted to fight on and the doctor recommended surgery, but Jon Jones should've just gone through with it, he shouldn't let that **** build up. I just think the LHW's have the most ****ed up ranking system in the UFC. It's ridiculous.

Forget about it. Rashad isn't a fraction of the striker he thinks he is. Machida will own him again or sub him on the mat. Either way Evans is a rank outsider here. To be honest i can't even see the point in a rematch.

You know what, Rashad deserves another shot at Machida, but he will lose again IMO. But I enjoyed watching the first bout, I always like seeing wrestlers in the UFC get schooled by other disciplines.

Stop being a child. They weren't planning on do Evans vs Machida they're scrambling to get a fight together at three weeks notice. Other than Tito and Machida every other name at 205Ibs has a fight.

In any case Machida seems to have rejected it. As has Tito. Either they make a better offer to either man or we may be looking at Evans-Franklin (Rich is fighting in the co-main so they could just cancel that fight).

Machida aint taking the fight. If Ortiz doesn't take it they're running out of options really. Might even have to draft someone in from Strikeforce.

You don't like the fight - fair enough, I don't like it either. But it's three weeks away, they don't have many options and they're just trying to find a marketable main event. So whinging about rematches or how you'd rather see this match involving a fighter already booked is childish.
