We've already been over the fact Holyfield wasn't one of Byrd's top 3 wins. Exception can be made when this is obvious. And Tyson was ranked ahead of holy before he lost to Tyson. I never claimed this a perfect format, but its better than anything you can come up with I'm sure.

I've said almost from go there is no perfect formula for something like this. But it give a fantastic standard to go by. I'd like to have every issue of the Ring to go by but I don't. With the limited resources available to me this is a very good way to assess though. If you think you can do better than by all means show us.

If Evander doesn't count as one of Byrd's top 3 wins, something is very wrong with your system. A legend coming off a big win, a controversial draw, and still holding down a top 5 ranking.

For my money, Byrd's win over Evander belongs above Tyson's win over Holmes.

2-2-2 in his last 6 tights without another top 10 win in his career? You guys are welcome to your opinion, but I don't think so. Let's remember Holmes went on to beat Mercer a few years after Tyson.

-In the two fights directly proceding the Byrd fight, he looked really good in outboxing Rahman and Ruiz. I believe he was rated #3 going into the Byrd fight, and would fall to #4 after it. The highest RING ranked opponent, Byrd would defeat for what it's worth.

-What does it matter what he did after the fact? He had shoulder surgery sustaining an injury during the Byrd fight and never returned to form after a long lay off.

-Yep, after 5 tune up fights in 10 months to work himself back into ring shape, he humilated Mercer. He was retired, unranked, and out of action for two years before stepping into the ring with Tyson for a payday. I think an active, ranked Holyfield coming off a good win is a better opponent.

-Lastly, name three Chris Byrd wins better than his IBF title win against 2002 Holyfield. I can't. Tua? Vitali? Oquendo? McCline?

That only proves the quality of this era. Past champions were unable to stay competitive and faded away.

Thats the stupidest quote i heard in months:nut

Holyfield was a power less old man and was losing to everybody at that stage in his career.
Two fights later shot to pieces Golota easily beat Byrd and got robbed with a draw.

Holmes went 6-0 after Tyson including a win over unbeaten prime Mercer. He also did better against Holyfield and MaCall than Lewis did.

Holmes went 21-3 past prime against much better opponents than prime Byrd against weak and shot opponents.

-Rahman and Ruiz are everybody and he didn't lose to them. Rahman who just went 1-1 with Lewis.

-"Shot to pieces?", actually the best and most focused Golota ever looked. I think the draw was fair.

-No, Holmes retired for two years after Tyson.

-Did better against Holyfiled than Lewis? And you talk about "stupid quotes" Didn't I just school your dumbass last week on that Wlad ducking Chisora business. Go back to that thread and respond, I made a damn fool out of you and you are going to try trash talk here?

-I can't agree with that. Holmes stayed busy against cans and picked his spots agianst Mercer and Ferguson but really wasn't a consistent presence in the division. Byrd was ranked as contender from 98-2006, mixed it up with K Bros, Tua, Ike, Holyfield, McCline, Golota, Povetkin,..etc.

Ah yes, I like that list. But, it considers top 10 fighters in a career. Mine is at the time of said fights. You obviously don't have the brains or ingenuity to think up anything yourself.

"2-2-2 in his last 6 tights without another top 10 win in his career?"

This would imply Evander couldn't stay competitive with the new crop. You can't have your cake and eat it to.

No, your rankings are at the time after the fights. Which you have been corrected on, countless times already.

The Annual Rankings of say 2006 are actually the rankings entering 2007.

For instance, 2005 is what the standings were going into 2006. Byrd was #1 then and remained so until Wlad took his spot a few months later.

Where have you listed 3 Chris Byrd wins better than Holyfield? I would like to know who you think was better.
