I'm (ahem) a statistical analyst, iow a "quant" jock Take it from me, the OPs methodology is deeply flawed. His "analysis" would be ridiculed in my profession. Most of these wankers never get around to presenting a clear hypothesis. It's easy to see that their agenda is to discredit the K bros.

Trying to show one era is more/less exciting and competitive than some other by using Ring or some other sources rankings tells us nothing about which is the superior era re h2h. Except for the nostalgia crowd and the nationality and race bigots, it's obvious that this era is the best, and it's not even close. The former Soviet block opened up hardly a generation ago and they already have most of the top HWs. To some on here it's for :|

 

Indeed, boxing history would look very different if talented fighters from the Soviet Union, Cuba and maybe even China ( given the Chinese population number there would probably be a couple of ass-kicking mutants in there ). I don't think Ali or Louis would have had long title reigns and Joe Walcott and Rocky Marciano probably never would have made it to the top at all. If professional boxing had always been fully globalized, the global influence on boxing most likely would have made it harder for organize crime to have influenced pro boxing to the degree it did for as long as it did. Gangsters would have probably still had some sway but not nearly to the point that they did.

It is a terrible era. The welters amongst other smaller divisions are ruling boxing. I hope the heavyweight division bounces back. This is the worst it has ever been.

You must forgive me for asking, since you were being currently public with this information but hadn't yet provided a basis for what you were claiming - but if you want to withdraw it its no problem. Someone might ask why you aren't validating it on the basis on not wanting it to be public, when you've just discussed it in a publically, so just watch your back.
