Breaking down Wilders resume

I was never that high on Stiverne myself. He just looked like a solid, powerful punching HW of the Sam Peter mould that (unlike Peter) had yet to prove himself on world level. His struggle against Austin tipped me to the fact that his ceiling wasn't very high, and his wins over Arreola (while impressive) weren't enough to move me from that stance, considering I'd never rated Arreola that highly to begin with.

Around the time he beat Arreola I'd have picked someone like Tony Thompson to have outpointed him, which gives some idea of where I'd have ranked him. Lower top ten most likely.

I did tip him to beat Wilder, but that was more due to the fact that Wilder was a complete question mark at that point (he's not much less of one today).

 

I seriously hope the OP is not implying that the bronze bombers been fighting bums all this time. I personally rank the Dustin Nichols, and Harold Sconiers as very high on my all time win lists. The bomb squad aint gonna be happy when they read this!

 

If you take away Wilder's belt, he has a good resume. It's just that his title run has been extremely mediocre.
Wilder being dragged along slowly is irrelevant. It's his overall resume which counts. And if you take away his title, it's a damn fine resume for a top contender.
