Yeah, it will be interesting if they fire him. Certainly it looks bad, as they first admitted that he had no official duties that night. Now they reveal he has no offical duties ever, in regards to officiating at any match. Just a fundraiser of sorts. And re a NC. I don't know. Maybe a rematch should be ordered as at least one judge was looking over to his left and not watching. But maybe this guy went over to all the officials at other times? But the stupidest thing to do was to go over to the one fighter while he was celebrating. Plenty of cameras at that point in time!
I actually agree. But I can see why a rematch or NC might now be ordered as they got caught with something wrong happening on tape. But Khan may have done some good here for the future of boxing. Something rotten may have been caught on camera. Someone who has no business there, DURING a fight is speaking with an official and distracting at least one judge from observing the fight he was supposed to be watching. Just the surface here maybe...
Who knows! the longer this has gone on the more dodgy it seems to get! Yer I'd say a rematch being ordered is a dead cert. and absolutely going over to Peterson and celebrating with his team makes it look worse. Regardless of the outcome of the fight and hate for khans personality defects, he has rightly kicked up a fuss about it, and I would expect Peterson to have done if Khan and his roles were reversed. Its not on that any random guy can just come over and talk to the supervisor and judges the way Hatman did.
losing a split decision because of 2 fairly dubious points deductions that decided the result isn't getting "smoked". if this was a wide ud no-one would give a ****. it was a close fight that was already a bit unusual in reffing & judging...if actual impropriety at ringside can be proved as well...then ****ing hell... if peterson actually walks away & faces anyone else...even pac...i will think less of him. he has unfinished business to attend to. rematch; neutral venue. that is the absolute minimum that should happen now.
The reason why it took ten minutes to get the result of the fight is because the judges thought they had lost their scorecards, but luckily Hatman eventually found them in his pockets and handed into the ring and the winner was announced... 'and the new...'
I got the connection! Note the bold and red parts. From the IBF page on their fund. http://www.ibf-usba-boxing.com/sarb "In 1986, out of concern for the financial well-being of retired fighters, the IBF/USBA created the Special Assistance to Retired Boxers Fund (SARB) to aide former fighters in need during difficult financial times...In 1995 this fund was expanded to include scholarships and became the SARB/Educational Fund. The SARB/Educational fund provides scholarships to the children and grandchildren of IBF members...SARB/Educational fund money is also used for donations to community organizations including gyms...The monies derived from the interest earned on the various IBF/USBA bank accounts and T-bills mainly support the SARB/Educational fund. This content is protected and the organization also raises money for this fund by selling its logo merchandise and raffling various prizes at its yearly conventions." Hatman was merely supervising the kickbacks. I mean donations. More to be revealed.
He even arranges 2 dubious point deductions to help fighters in need. What a guy :yep This fight has to be a NC.
