Off topic but how did Macklin get so much money to start his company MTK didn't think he was getting that big of purses when he was active or did he already have money before boxing.

Why’s everybody want to leave the McGuigans once they hit the big time? Promoter, Manager, Trainer, advisor, are they taking too big a cut of the purses?

 

I wonder if Cyclone has the deep pockets for prolonged litigation. Breach claim against Taylor and tortious interference against Top Rank, followed by Taylor countersuing for breach based on conflict of interest which means a brutal discovery process.

Anyway, Taylor has interesting fights to make down there. Hope they get him in the ring without too much BS delay.

 

Which is why i would love to see taylor fight some of them before they get too old.

From what I can gather they were telling frampton the purses for his fights were less than they actually were. I.e. they told him the purse for a fight was 1.5m when it was actually 2m and kept the 500k. That’s the rumour

 

Didn’t McGuigan say the same kinda thing about his own manager when he was a fighter? Some guy called Eastwood. Sure it wasn’t Clint though.

So Eastwood made a fistful of dollars at Barry's expense? That must have made McGuigan's day! I guess he could have taken the view that it was all in the line of duty! I wonder if Barry clocked him one, when he found out, if so that would have made a sudden impact on Eastwood's chin! For sure he remains unforgiven to this day.
