BREAKING NEWS – MARQUEZ VS VASQUEZ 4 in the works!

Bo xi ng her ald .c om sat down briefly with Gary Shaw and got a quick update on his stable, and what he has coming up. Shaw tells BH that a fourth fight between the WBC super bantamweight title holder Israel Vasquez and former champ Rafael Marquez is indeed in the works as we speak!

BH – Thanks for joining ____ Gary.

    GS – My pleasure

BH – Firstly, talk about Timothy Bradley, the new WBC welterweight champ.

GS – Well I give all of the credit to Timothy, he did what he had to do. I also want to give a lot of credit to the WBC for appointing the types of judges that should have been appointed. Anytime a fighters goes overseas to Europe and doesn't knock the fighter out, and still comes back with the win, you have to give all of the credit to the judges who judged that fight.

BH – Vic Darchinyan will be fighting Dimitri Kirilov on August 2nd. Talk about that fight.

GS – Darchinyan is in for a tough fight against Kirilov. They both fight the same style of fight, so it's going to be bombs away. Hopefully Vic comes out victorious.

BH – If Vic is victorious will he get his rematch against Nonito Donaire?

GS – Yes, if Vic wins his fight he will be deserving of a rematch with Nonito Donaire.

BH – Will Nonito Donaire be on the same card as Vic Darchinyan's next fight in August?

GS – Yes, I am working on that right now. It's in the works for sure.

BH – James Kirkland squares off against Eromosele Albert. I think that's going to be a tough fight.

GS – It's a tough fight, but I have all the confidence in the world in Kirkland and his management. Kirkland agreed to take the fight, and I think it will be a good fight.

BH – Can you give us an update on Rafael Marquez?

GS – I am just waiting to hear from Frank Espozito, and Sycuan and myself would love to do the fourth fight. There is a million dollars on the table for both fighters.

BH – Do you have a target date that you would like this 4th fight to take place on?

GS – I am looking at sometime in October or November.

Those guys need to be saved from themselves. As much as i love to see them go at it, enough is enough.

I don't think this is a good idea, they gave us 3 ATG fights and took an insane amount of punshment. It was clear who the better man was and there is no need for a 4th fight.

I'd rather they both have a couple more fights each (against different opponents) then retire.

I think they deserve a break to be honest but a million dollars is a lot of money...Anyone knows their purse for the previous bouts?

boxingherald came out in force with their website.

The podcasts are great. Did you hear the Donaire interview? Says he wants to move up all the way to 126! great interview

These guys are going to retire each other to permanent brain damage. In there fights, both guys took more punishment then most take in a career. There styles clash and both will come out of this damaged.

It feels strange to say that anyone making one million dollars is underpaid, but in this case it isn't nearly enough. Not when DLH makes 45.

Awesome news for boxing but come on man, two of such fights are career threatening, they already had three and now a fourth!, good God. Just hope that this doesn't totally finish off one of them that's IF they're the same anyway, this fourth fight will definitely decide.

I think in their first bout both made 200k, for their second they got 300k, and for the 3rd Marquez got 400k and Vazquez got 800k.

For the fights these guys have given us they are way underpaid. I don't like that they have taken so much punishment in this fantastic trilogy but if they are gonna go at it one more time, I am there, and I will gladly buy their fight if its on PPV and they finally get more than a decent pay.

A fourth fight would be great for us boxing fans, but putting that aside, it won't be great for the health of these two. I'd rather they move on.

Yeah, I can't believe they're ONLY gonna make a million.

I feel sick, depraved and flat out revolted at the fact that I want to see this fourth fight. I feel like watching two gladiators truly fight each other to the death...but to be fair, I think they're both shot...I'd rather they face each other shot then someone else who has the ability to do more damage to them like the at once point rumored MAB/Izzy Vasquez fight.

This should be a retirement fight.
