Very curious to see how he fares from here on out. His mystique is broken. He is probably past prime, but Helenius is 39. If Helenius wins It means Wilder was always way overrated.

Awesome we get another fight that should have happened twice by now. Better late than never I suppose. You guys wonder why fighters employ all these tactics and politics to protect zeros and belts, then turn around and claim they are done because they lose a fight. Plenty of all time great fighters lost and lost multiple fights. Some even had that one or 2 guys they couldn’t look at wrong without taking an L. It's part of the sport guys, quit wishing for careers to be over. Who you gonna replace these guys with? Someone of even lesser quality?

People who claim that Fury has never taken a risk are ironically giving him immense praise; they are indirectly saying that no one Fury's fought is fit to lace his boots, including on the 4 occasions Fury's been the underdog. It's obviously true that guys like Chisora and Whyte weren't fit to lace Fury's boots but Wlad away and Wilder x3 away were 6'5+ KO artist long-reigning champions with A-side advantage. If they were low risk fights, particularly with all of the disadvantages Fury had before Wilder 1, then Fury must be the GOAT and he'll make mincemeat out of AJ and Usyk too.

absolute fkn melt? oww, your insults hurt so much. Wilders has zero good wins, Whyte just got knocked unconscious by a 41 year old. Can't give someone credit for a fight that hasn't happened, a la Joshua, you dumbass.

    Everybody would win.
    • Fury gets 50% plus lots of dive money. Then he retires. He was talking about retirement anyway.
    • AJ gets a belt and receives 50%.
    • Matchroom keeps his cashcow alive.
    • Usyk and AJ fights for a 3rd time. Maybe Usyk takes a dive too, and again everybody would win.

No numbers, no substantiation of who was willing to stump up what, and not one source cited. Oh, except a Tweet from Klimas which says, uh, nothing much, actually, and which was followed, two days later, by a statement from Warren to the effect that Joshua's financial demands were excessive.

    Nice try, indeed.

Well, it happened. And Ruiz don't punch like no Wilder (whose momentary successes Fury survived).

I don't see how Fury can fairly be criticized if he forgoes a soft touch to collect a still somewhat creditable name while waiting on Usyk, especially given the purse involved.

As for Oluwafemi's chances of upsetting the apple cart, that he is still a somewhat creditable scalp doesn't mean that he isn't eminently beatable for Fury. And whooping Oluwafemi's hide only does a service to building up the bout with Usyk, t'boot.

Eh, he didn't even touch down. Excuses could made for him, à la Joshua for Ruiz, but he doesn't ultimately need them because he endured and won the fight.

If we go with the @lordlush version of events (i.e. that the Saudis were willing to fully satisfy everybody's financial demands, for which there isn't much in the way of substantiating evidence), he wouldn't have needed to take less. But, yeah, while it's nice if Usyk was willing to give an unreasonable chunk of his money away, it shouldn't be expected of anybody else.

[michaelcaine]I know[/michaelcaine], but they're on Twitter, YouTube and Instagram (unless you count @Thunderstorm, who is a rabble-rousing veteran of these pages).

Nice try again. What numbers i need to show? Numbers that no one actually know, except for the fighters and their team, and they won't reveal, for multiple reason, and of them is stock or they will exaggerate again for stock reasons and so ?
And that is irrelevant again, the money wouldn't have come from Usyk - Fury pot, they have a fixed fee. Saudi was going to paid for the step aside. Usyk agree to the fight, Fury backed up. This is a facts. And Hearn confirmed this first, but i didn't believe him, until pretty much every one reported it, and most importantly, Usyk team comes out and said the way it is. Both of his managers said it. And the are no b.c., unlike Fury and Warren who are a proven liers.

Going by your logic i should have believe Fury that he faked injury to duck Klitschko rematch, or his wild board drug story, when he failed drug test, right ? Or when he was retired, right ?

Usyk ain't stupid, he had 3 title, and all the cards into his hands. He is no rush to make the fight in a disadvantageous position like AJ did, which was a stupid move from him. He should have keep his demands on Dec 17th, or let Fury fight another one of his "super solid" opponents.

Still that is the same trying to cherry pick Wilder does to Fury, and will actually turn it very wrong and very badly for Fury, who will be KOed badly !!!

Lots of waffle and opinionatedness, but still zero substantiation. Stellar work there, old bean. :stick:
