Didnt Arum said it wouldnt be a catchweight for this fight and that it would be at 147.

If Pac doesnt want to fight at 147 then he should fight at jr welter instead of making these BS catchweights.

    yo! this is unacceptable

furthermore. Can Clottey even make 144 lbs? I doubt that he can, with out damaging himself.

This what Pac's adviser Michael ****s said and that is why the Philippine media kept saying its in a catchweight of 144 but in Roach's recent interview he said the fight will take place at 147 and not 144. I lean on believing Roach on this one then Mike....Heres the script of that interview:

"We have to box this guy, in-and-out, side-to-side motion, and really, really be very tactical because he's a very strong and big puncher and has a good chin of course. Again, it's not an easy fight, but it's a fight that we want to fight because it's a fight that the fans will enjoy and that's what we want. We want to put on a good shows and keep doing that and keep Manny Pacquiao's number one ranking alive."

    ."

"Manny's comfortable at the weight [147 pounds]. Making 135 was a bit of a struggle, making 140, we can make 140 with ease, but he likes the extra strength, he likes eating the day of the weigh-in. When Manny's eating the day of the weigh-in and gets to eat twice before the weigh-in, he's happy and that's when he peforms at his best, when he's smiling and in a good mood. He's not in an angry mood because he's starving himself. Making weight is a little bit overrated I think and

is proof. He's fighting at a weight he's comfortable at. He'll come into this fight like 144-145 and he'll go into the ring at 148 or 149 at most and that's his best fighting weight."

A fighter thinks he can do anything and beat any one.
Shane said he would come to 140 to fight pac. But do you actually think Mosley who once upon a time fought at 154 would be strong enough to fight at 140?

Just because a fighter thinks hes superman dont make it reality

For a welterweight bout, yes. But for the welterweight championship, is it fair to impose a lower weight limit than the one for which the belt was established as a condition for being allowed to challenge for the belt?

    Not to me.

By being allowed to do this, Manny has essentially changed the welterweight limit. As long as you're a welterweight, if you want to become WBO champion, the welterweight limit is no longer 147 - it's now 144. It's an unprecendented amount of power to give to a boxer because it allows him to override the commission rules on what constitutes a weight class. It sets a pretty serious and dangerous precedent if this becomes Manny's new MO.
