I'm so ****ing fed up of this catch-weight crap

I can't however blame Pac and his team here, they're obviously trying to get the best deal for their fighter.

Sorry to upset the ranting mob, but it's Clottey's peoples fault for **** negotiation, not Pacs.

Doesnt Roach see that this only takes most of the luster of a possible Pac win.

The main thing that pisses me of about these catchweight fights is that Pac doesnt need that **** to win.

While it is Clottey's fault to some degree. Look at it like this. He's a B level fighter from a poor background, from a poor country, living in a **** city right now.

He will NEVER have the opportunity to fight a guy like Pac again, and quite frankly is LESS deserving than other fighters, and he KNOWS it.

Bob Arum controls his career, Pac fights for Arum, Arum the **** bag who doesn't give a **** about his fighters.

Arums tells Clottey who he will fight, and under what terms.

It's how Clottey makes a living. Sad, but CLOTTEY actually has ZERO say.

Manny is a glorified f#$. Fuggin' egotistical little baby. No wonder the floyd fight didn't happened. And to make things worse, Schafer said Floyd will still want random blood testing for the fall. B.s.

Catchweight- I can live with it.
PED BLOOD testing- That's what we need. Do it at 144 if you want but don't forget to take a little blood test that won't hurt, Manny, after all you're a grown-up boy, aren't you?

That's a bit like saying it's the woman's fault for getting raped because she's dressed in a skirt.

You can't blame Clottey for agreeing to make concessions he shouldn't make in exchange for a payday several times what he's ever made in his life. He doesn't have a lot of options and very little power. He's being (allegedly) victimized because he has very little negotiating power.

But I disagree that there are more deserving fighters. Not at welterweight. He's one of the six best welterweights in the world right now, and the others (PBF, Mosley, Berto, Cotto) are all occupied or already beaten by Pac. He IS the most deserving available welterweight. So to give him the chance of a lifetime and then (allegedly) put such massive conditions on it is victimizing Clottey. He gets none of the blame for this.

Do you understand the meaning of the word limit?

The weight class is BETWEEN 141-147. 147 is UPPER LIMIT. Any weight between that is a legal welter weight limit by DEFINITION and rules set by the sanctioning bodies. It is up to the fighters to set agree upon ANYTHING between that weight.

Money talks and BS walks. Clottey, Cotto, JMM, Armstrong, Bernard Hopkins, Castillo, etc all have agreed at one point to catch weight fights - including in championship bouts. This is no different. So unless you started following boxing around PBF vs JMM or Pac vs Cotto, this should be nothing new to you.

If the sanctioning bodies start eliminating it or you start dismissing it, you are basically ignoring a lot of important fights throughout the history of boxing.

You can also argue that if Clottey can't make the LEGAL WW weight range then he has no business in fighting at WW. Fight at 154. But of course he wont do that.

Hell, P Williams says he will fight at 147 - guess why? Money. And that is probably a bigger weight burden than Clottey at 144.

If JMM and Pac agreed to fight at 138, then JMM fans or Pac fans should not ***** as that is the reality.

PBF fought JMM at supposed 144. I don't blame either fighter for that. I think it is great they made the fight happen (except for PBF not honoring it).

PEOPLE ARE NATURALLY DIFFERENT. Get over it.

    WHAT??? WTF?

    Clottey can say NO.
He has no power because - guess why? Yeah he is not the draw, he is not the champion, he lost his last match and he does not have the mainstream appeal.

You think if Cintron faced PBF he will have bargaining chips? Of course. If Cintron wants to fight he plays by PBF rules.

They expanded the number of weight classes. There are already too many. I think participants for a belt should be allowed to use any of the range they want. There is no justification for Pac turning this into the 141.25 pound weight class, in my opinion anyhow.

He does not care about winning or losing, after throwing his toys out of the plan and saying he quits the sport after the Cotto loss, its clear he just wants the biggest payday of his career. Tell him 130 and he'll run to Africa and back to make weight.

If Floyd can change the doping rules, why can't Manny change some of the rules?

I understand that WW is 141-147.

So if you want to call 144 WW then why not let Clottey come in at 147 if that is still WW? Why force him to cut more weight if it's still considered WW.

They should let Clottey come in at 147 and Pac to come in at whatever he wants from 141 to 147.

If it's WW all the same then why not do that?

    1. Anyone who shines will always rise top the top and get the big paydays against the best fighters, Clottey is no different.

    2. The guy is ranked 5th by Ring, Pac's already beaten Cotto who's 4th, PBF is 3rd and Mosley who won't be ready is 2nd. Who is more deserving that will be availible I ask?:think

    3. Of course he gives a ****, he's a **** but he's no Don King.

    4. See point 1.

    5. It takes time and effort to earn the right to be able to dictate, maybe this is the fight that changes things for Clottey.

Clottey dehydrates himself almost to death to make 147...they obviously want him to be a walking corpse on fight night. What a POS Pac turned out to be.
