roach says a lot of things, like a 5-day cut off for drug testing would be ok, and we all know how that ended

Conversely, if 144 is too small for Clottey, he could go fight someone else too.

I agree with the people in this thread that said "the offer's there, if Clottey takes it, then there's nothing any of us can say." At the end of the day, Clottey either accepts the catchweight (if there really is one) or not. If he does, it means that HE is confident enough that he can pull it off.

Pacquiao IS still the champ at this point...

    From B-Scene: Story posted 1/10/10

Manny Pacquiao's defence of the WBO Welterweight title against Joshua Clottey will not involve a catchweight. Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum told The Manaila Bulletin that Pacquiao/Clottey will have no weight stipulations. the fight will be Pacquiao's 3rd at Welterweight. He fought and stopped Oscar De La Hoya in 2008. He moved down to knock Ricky Hatton out to win The Ring Light Welterweight Championship and IBO Light Welterweight title last May and then returned to Welterweight in November to win the WBO title from Miguel Cotto but at the catchweight of 145. With all of the catchweight fights in the sport, it's refreshing to see a title defended in the actual division.

"There's going to be no catchweight on this one." said Arum.

Cottey is a very physical fighter. Without any weight restrictions he may come weighing close to 160 lbs. Arum plans st stage the fight at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas on March 13th. Arum told the paper that he plans to scale it for a crowd of 50,000 fans.

"We'll set it up for 50,000." added Arum.

Arum also confirmed that the fight will be at 147 pound. The 144 pound limit makes no sense.

My apologies to the Mayweather fanclub for taking the rest of their ammo away.

You can still accuse Manny of taking roids...

clottey had NO CHOICE and every sane human being knows this...how the **** can anyone defend pac if this happens...will clottey take say 3 mil to drain to 144...OF COURSE!!!! Does that make it right for pac to make him drain??? NO....just because pac won't take a test for 40 nil doesn't mean the whole world of boxers are a disgraqce.....what the **** is wrong with you people...i am sure u *******s are the same people who ***** about PBF fighting 2 guys moving up in weight....that is far easier than draining 3 lbs for an already huge ww....pac and his fans are ****ing jokes...i can't wait til the juice gets out of his system and floyd destroys this myth once and for all

Arum says a lot of things, like mayweather had no counter offers during negotiations and walked away from he table, and we all know how that turned out
