Breaking News: Don King Heavyweight Unification Tournament

While your right, Brewster, Bryd, and Ruiz were all Don King owned, but the organizations still have to agree on the matches, besides, I remember reading a little over a year ago, King was getting a match set up between, then WBA belt holder Valuev, and IBF title holder Wlad, but after Valuev lost to Chagaev last year, that deal fell apart. I do think King wants all his guys to have belts, but he also want big pay days as well, and a unification fight is one way to asure that.

 

i seriously doubt we will see any more unification. only way i can think of is if valuev beats chagaev, then king can matchup valuev-peter but i wouldnt hold my breath.

i will **** my pants from shock if we see wlad vs. any king beltholder.

chagaev doesnt want any part of wlad or any live body for that matter.

 

If Vitali can make it through the whole tournament without getting injured and granted he's as capable as he was when he was on top then Vitali should win this easily.

 

Regardling the possible scenarios to where King will actually put effort into making a unification fight.


-If Peter wins................and Chag is Peter's opponent. This will give King a chance to get a unified fighter in Peter. He will then have a second title under his control. I am not sure, but I'd probably lean towards Peter to beat Chag, and the odds would be in King's favor....low risk, big reward.


I think that is the only possible combination where King will press to unfiy..... The other combinations of these four fighters (Vitali/Peter-Chag/Valuev), King would not risk it, or would not benefit from it.

Well I agree to an extent, but King cant be fully to blame with the mess the Heavyweight division is in now adays, He wanted Valuev to fight Wlad, that didnt happen because he lost to Chagaev. It's not Don Kings fault that Iggy didnt fight Chagaev, he had nothing to do with it. I mean even if Peter wanted to fight Wlad or the winner of Chagaev/Valuev, he couldnt, the WBC is forcing him to fight Vitali, who is more and likely going to back out at the last minute as usual, and the late replacement will be either Golota or Ruiz, hopefully Golota, at least that will make the fans, such as myself happy.

 

This would be GREAT. But I doubt it happens, I think it is a lie or a joke.

If it happens, I think Vitali would win, but it depends on his current condition.

 

Add Haye.Tua, and you got a action pack tournament.

 

Ruslan would cautiously outbox Peter...
