Hatton's footwork is as good as any fighter in the game currently - it is his general head/body movement and defence which is bloody awful

Ha. Great. I cant wait to see Hatton completely change his approach.
Now he will become a master boxer. Oh man Hatton is getting whopped on November.
Go Paulie!! and i hate Paulie.

I think it's a wise choice. I've seen fights where Hatton looked really good moving his head, using angles, etc. His fight with Ben Tackie was probably the best boxing performance he ever gave. Maybe Mayweather can help him somewhat.

Good choice for Hatton, I think. Mayweather's a top guy, and if Hatton and he can develop a good working relationship, Ricky should benefit.

You just never know how these pairings will work, though. On the surface, Jermaine Taylor and Manny Steward looked like a good combination.

He needs to sort his defence as everyone could see against Lazcano that his punch resistance is weakening so is no longer able to fight the way he used to (ie face first) I think that getting Mayweather snr is an excellent idea as he's one of the best around.

I think its pretty obvious we aren't going to see him shoulder roll or anything like that, but it least if he puts his hands up, throws the jab a bit and thinks about setting up punches rather than go in all guns blazing, he should be able to last a few more fights than he would do otherwise

Hatton's footwork is fine. He needs to work on keeping his hands up and moving his head more IMO. It will be interesting to see how Hatton develops under Mayweather.

Im thinking that its too late as well. May Sr will change Hatton for the worst I think. Keep in mind that May Sr is really a def. trainer, and that will change what Hatton does best and that is swarm. If Hatton trys to box Mags he will lose and do so lopsidely.

Sr is an egomaniac! If Hatton wins, it is ALL because of Sr, but if he loses, it is all because he didn't listen to Mayweather Sr.

i've got a feeling it may be too late to teach this old dog new tricks, but it will be very interesting seeing the results. would love to watch the sessions, anyone know what gym they'll be using ?
very telling to see mayweather being given the job after bad-mouthing billy graham so much, i think this proves the split was far from amicable.

Hatton's gonna need his smothering tactics if he's gonna fight Malignaggi. I really can't see Hatton winning this from the outside.

I think Mayweather would basically work with him on his weaknesses and how to pick his punches better. And USE HIS GOD DAMNED JAB to get in and not his face.
