I don't know much about figures but after the ass whooping he took, I would imagine his price may have gone down a wee bit. :huh
Its pretty clear that your a Bute fanboy. No one wanted to see Zuniga It was on freaking Sho-box at like 12am on a sat. Bute has to this point had a very poor title reign. You can point to the super-six as the reason but Im not buying it. He could make fights with big name fighters one weight north or south of him. Bute is ****ing the pooch, and stealing money by fighting a list of no-hopers that is likened to the reigns of German fighters that are promoted by Kohls. Bute is on one of the worst title runs in recent memory.
Yes I'm a fan... but what does it have to do with all this, look Dawson is tied up with Pascal He can't make MW If he fights Hopkins it's a lose-lose situation \ If he wins its because Hopkins is 46 and if he loses he'll be a laughing joke who got beaten by a 46 years old Hopkins... Tell me who do you want him to fight, this is just hate I could make you a list of fighters that fought bums and They had more choices Do I think these guys Bute fought were difficult fights, NO, was he expected to win YES, would I liked him fighting better opposition, YES Plus it's not as much who he fights that was important it's how he managed to dismantled them Zuniga's only lost by TKO was against Pavlik due to cut Andrade has never been KOed before Miranda got KOed faster against Bute than anyother fighter he's ever faced I agree that there are B level fighters, but the way he beated them that's what makes people believe he's the number 1 Do I think he is, NO Do I think anyone in the division is, NO not until they faced all top guys, and the only moment when the number one will be crowned is when the super-six winner faces Bute, that way, all competition will be fought I might be a fanboy as you say, but I'm still logical, not like most haters Anyways, your entitled to your opinion
If you look hard enough you can excuse it every time a fighter fights a guy that he shouldnt fight. Dawson was freed up when Butes' camp was asked about fighting him, a thought of which they declined. Fighting Hopkins isnt as much of a lose as fighting Brinkley who couldnt even win the contender. HOWEVER there is a chance and a pretty good one that Hopkins would beat Bute so its not going to be risked. Even if Bute cant make 160 it would be more interesting seeing him fight a top guy moving up from 160 then Brinkley. The problem I have he when you have to defend the fighters that a fighter has fought in order to prove that he is good. If Bute was fighting good fighters then you wouldnt have to defend who he is fighting and why he should be seen as a top fighter. From what I see Bute seems like a good fighter, but its hard to tell because he hasnt faced a truely elite fighter to this point. Andrade would lose to every fighter in the super-six expect for replacement Green. Miranda has already lost to several of them including to Ward in like his 17th fight. the rest of the guys that Bute has faced to this point isnt even worth mentioning, and Brinkley fits in with that group. So in closing can Bute fight any of the top guys RIGHT NOW?? No but he could have, and he could have tried to make the fight with Hopkins. Or they could have shown some interest in Dawson when they were asked. There was also the fight that fall apart with Froch. After awhile the finger has to be pointed at the guy that isnt fighting top level fighters and not the fighters that his fans claim wont fight him. Which is the case around here with Bute fans.
I agree with almost everything, but the Dawson fight he didn't want to move to 175 Plus if he hadn't faced Andrade in November 2009, most "fans" would of said that he is ducking Andrade But yeah, Bute has to fight bigger challenges, because right now, IMO he is wasting his best years fighting B or B+ level of opposition
And a matchup between Bute and Pavlik was in the making, but he got screwed when Pavlik lost to Martinez
Even if Pavlik had beaten Bute, a fight with Bute wouldnt mean all that much.. Pavlik is a natural MW and he's not the same fighter at 168. Bute is the biggest cherrypicker in the current boxing scene.
Pavlik a natural MW? FFS. He is deciding on whether to skip SMW and go to LHW. I brought this up in another thread with Boo. People claiming Kelly would be a small SMW if he moves up. AGAIN. Reports are he looked at his best ever when he reported to camp for the Martinez fight at a "solid" 180. Now, if you want to talk about Zuniga, you have an argument.
I gave up on Brinkley when he looked like crap against an old and inactive Robin Reid. This fight was a pleasant surprise.
Bute must be doing something right. Fruits like IvyLeague now on ESB jumping into every thread blasting him much like *******s and *****s.
I can't see Pavlik on the undercard in this scenario. Andrade might be on it but no way they get Pavlik and Andrade on undercard fights, too much money involved. Bute-Brinkley is a mismatch but atleast its on ESPN so its a good fit there. Bute will win big but he's a top fighter so I'm glad I get to see it.
