Can we now stop this nonsense now about Canelo and Golden Boy paying drug testers off and paying the Nevada State commission

 

Neither Team GGG nor Team Canelo has a say on the NSAC ruling, which states a 12 month suspension is mandatory, which can be upped to two years based on each case's severity, and possibly cut down to 6 months, IF a first time offender is cooperating AND the case is not severe us of PEDs. That's a big if, considering Canelo calls himself innocent and failed two drug tests, with the 2nd showing 20 times the clenbuterol levels Contador was banned for.

In the meantime, breach of a multi-million dollar contract remains just that, a job for lawyers under Nevada state law. GGG can still have a September fight AND get compensated in millions lost for May 5. That's the law talking brah.

Because a PED cheat should not get away with a 6 month slap on the wrist while the innocent party, losing out on like 15.000.000 dollars, may lose or age in the process.

Each and every drug cheat should be sued their pants off to send a clear message that you are not only risking a longer vacation. It's your bank account too. It's for the good of the sport.

 

When Loeffler is already saying they want to make the fight it all but confirms they still want the money fight. Going through the courts doesn't achieve that.

The fight will happen in September

 

Loeffler has no possible knowledge if and when Canelo's suspension will end, and by playing ball, he's very much willing to turn a blind eye just like Team Canelo and the WBA/WBC. That ain't good. If GGG called Canelo a drug cheat, he may as well follow it in court, and with two positive tests, a breach of contract and suspension, he's 99.99% in for millions in compensation without even stepping into the ring. He's entitled for that money per signed contracts.

And then, after Canelo payed his dues and served his sentence, he may still apologize and ASK for a rematch for GGG's titles, who's still the MW World Champion the last time I've checked. So no, it's not Team GGG and Tom Loeffler that needs to set an example. It's boxing.

Millions out of a cheater's pockets for cheating sets an example.

Don't forget, it was GBP who stated 3G could not fight last December, or it would DQ him from a rematch opp. Their shenanigans have cost 3G a TON of money.

A fighter who loses out on money due to a weight issue should be able to sue as well, for the lost wages and breach of contract.

Hope he does sue.

 

What does suing do? GGG can make more just fighting someone else. If he sues, then Canelo might never fight him again, which to me is in doubt. I think Canelo's career with the layoff might not be as good after all this. Which is too bad, he is a very good fighter. But this thing about the chemical in his system will probably follow him his whole career, just because it happened regarding his most important opponent and the rematch. It really is a shame because he is a very good fighter, and could someday be thought of as great.
